Last time napadaan ako sa SM Appliances... may nakita akong Induction stove.. reasonable ang price kya tawag ako ng salesman.. then nagtanong ako about induction kung papaanong nakakatipid sa kuryente.. eh walang maisagot... basta ang claimed lang daw ang mga ibang customer eh matipid daw sa kuryente yun pero yung explanation kung paaano? di daw nya alam.... pina test ko yung 1... nakita ko nsa 1800watts na agad sa display niya then press niya function at doon nababago ang watts.. like cooking rice nasa 1200W, soup-1400W, fry-300W.... sa ganoong kataas ng wattage... papaanong makakatipid ng kuryente? Kayo alam ninyo?

I think it's due to its design na minimum ang stray heat. Since inductive stoves only interact with compatible cookware, hindi nasasayang ang heat energy at most napupunta sa food. So theoretically, food is cooked in less time requiring less energy.

If any, siguro ang tamang phrase ay mas efficient ang induction cooker vs. conventional electric (ie hot plate) cookers.

Agree here.... More efficient is more like it.

If you are cooking food, say 3 hours in a day at 1KW,- then the associated electricity bill is about 3KW-Hr x P10/KW-Hr = P30/day. Now, P30x30days= P900 per month.... How much is a tank of Solane LPG? P800(?).... You do the math...

cook food in lesser time. Another thing, they don't have "glowing" or "nagbabagang" heating elements.
Malakas sa kuryente ang "glowing" appliances, like the ordinary electric stove or electric oven.
But the catch is really LESS COOKING TIME. Electric Stove takes more time to reach it's cooking
temperature compared to the Induction Stove which is almost instantly. Same wattage, same power
    consumption. less cooking time... TIPID!

Hehwh

Been using induction cookers for 4years na. It's a better alternative to katol electric stoves. One time, we went to the province and there's no available LPG (midnight na and all stores are closed) and we can only use katol electric stove, we were reminded how quick induction is. Imagine boiling a kettle of water takes more than a freakin hour. So, I advised the housekeeper to get an induction cooker so we won't be dealing with such hassle next time (anyway, Saladmaster naman cookware nila).

Anyway, here in Manila, one can get Zebra (a thai brand) stainless cookware. It's good value, thick and heavy for its price. (more or less 2k lang isa).

Us, we still use the freebie pot though I've burned countless, it I'm amazed it's still not torn and some Nutritech cookware. Personally, If it's a new collection just buy the whole range of Zebra for practicality. Seagull (another Thai) mukhang ok din but I haven't tried that.

Maganda sana kung may local brand but I don't know one.

and yes, it is more efficient, not necessarily more matipid. For example, you can boil a kettle of water for about 5 minutes at full power (2100 watts). With Katol elec stove (no idea but perhaps 1500w-2000w), that takes more than an hour. Surely, you can save a lot with induction.

I have one. You can actually adjust the power settings. I never put it at 1000w for more than 15mins kasi Sobrang init agad. My normal cooking setting is about 120w. Mas matipid vs LPG.

Bought one last week. Was planning to buy a traditional electric stove, but instead went with induction heat stove. Other than being more efficient, you can actually control the wattage (from 300W to 1800W), unlike in an electric stove where the wattage is constant (more than 1000W).

    more energy efficient, yes.

Korek!

Ao i prefer yung usual electric stove.

It is doing good business because the condo dwellers are not allowed to use LPG.... so the only choice is electric stove. With that it makes economic sense to engage a more efficient solution.

Yeah, bawal ang LPG sa Condo.

I just bought one Last week. It's a Dowell. Bilis mag luto at very efficient mag fry. I can even adjust it at it's lowest setting in Stir-Fry mode at 60W

To use a car analogy. Both cars are 4 cylinder, pero yung isa induction type at yung isa naman traditional electric stove.

With the same 'fuel' (wattage), the induction car can go faster and further than the traditional car. So parang 40 km/l going at 200kph! And it doesn't need Z-rated tires only, kasi pwde na naman slightly more expensive tires.
