Our 6-yr-old 40" Skyworth and 4-yr-old 38" Devant are still doing ok. The buttons on the TVs are not reliable anymore but the remotes still work ok even after quite a few drops over the years. The Skyworth is particularly abused because it's the dedicated Playstation TV but we haven't had any problems with it so far.

Yung 90s Trinitron namin buhay pa, namatay na lahat ng TV sa buhay, siya buhay pa. We brought it to the province kasi malakas daw sa kuryente CRT.

I have a sharp 32". Cant comment on the durability yet as this is fairly new.

Samsung lcd are crap per experience. Hdmi port conks out. Now, pang local tv na lang.

failure rates are lower nowadays. just look at amazon and newegg reviews. if you have house electrical issues then failure rates are higher for sure.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be? I can't turn it off. When I power off, it would open again but with the "ulan" screen. And then I have to reprogram (auto channel again). I have to pull the plug to power off tuloy.
my guess is, your remote's buttons are dirty.
the difficult part is opening it up.
once opened, it is easy to clean and close down.

If I "sleep" the TV, it will turn off a few seconds and then open again but with the ambon ambon/black and white grains screen. I have to program the channels again So I have to pull the plug to turn it off and then reprogram the channels every time I turn on.
if remote ang problema, check mo sa Lazada baka may similar/replacement remote o yung mga universal remote controls

It is not the remote because if I power it on and off using the button at the TV. If I turn it off, it turns on by itself after a few seconds. Also, after mag on, wala na sa program yung channel (black and white grains na lang nakikita ko) I have to pull the plug para mag off.

I have a 50" MyView LCD TV in my office, used for viewing my CCTV feed, it's ON 10hrs everyday (except sundays and holidays) for the past 5yrs. So far so good.

I also have some Panasonic Plasma and LCD TVs, some as old as 10yrs already, and still functioning well.
