Even set to full AUTO, most DSLRs would still kick P&S cameras in the nuts. DSLRs generally have better optics and better/bigger sensors to make up for the lack of artistry of the camera logic.
However, the potential for a photograph to become infinitely better rests on the eyes and mind behind the viewfinder.

Pag nasa travel,- hassle masyado ang DSLR (with its various lenses). Isang bag na,- dito pa lang......

im thinking d7k or lense na lang. for my old d31 , have two lenses (50mm and 17-50mm)

Don't think I will replace my Nikon D40. It's just a great camera even for the price

like I said before, they are both good and worth your money. it's really a matter of personal preference. i know some people who started with nikons but ended up with canon, and vice versa. best advise is to not pick which is the most 'bang for buck' - again, they both are - research some more and look at different reviews online, go to the store and handle some models personally.
