d40, d60, d7000.. it all matters sa lense.
you dont need a higher MegaPixel di ka naman mag piprint ng billboard eh..
get a D3100 or Eos as starter SLR then grab a 17-50mm F2.8 / or any lense na constant F
pero if you are looking for the technology go to D7000
I still use my friends D60 but using my 50mm, and violah.. the shot still looks great

If you don't want the bulk but need DSLR quality, checkout the mirrorless cameras. I was a convert from Canon 60D. I now use a Sony NEX6. Same APS-C sensor as most DSLRs.

+1 dun sa jep's house of gadgets, mura dun. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jeps-...66321966717657
i chose nikon (D3100, 2 years old na so "obsolete" na siya), for the reason that nikon dslr can use lenses of the old nikon slr film cameras. so kung on a budget ka for lenses pwede ka bumili ng second hand. di ko pa lang nga nahahanap sa quiapo yung lenses na gusto ko. i'm presently using a Sigma 18-250 for my all around lens. di naman ako pro, i just want good photos of my family and mahilig din kami magbyahe. one thing though, having a dslr hanging on your neck for a week can be very tiring.
sa flash, if you are on a budget there is yongnuo. i have the 565EX, YONGNUO, photographic equipment, camera accessories, flash light, camera remote control, speedlite, photo equipment, LED photo light, flash trigger, camera wireless remote control, TTL cord dun ko din sa jep's na-score.

Shooting with a P&S is a like shooting with a DSLR with its dial on AUTO.
Shooting with a P&S is far different from shooting with a DSLR. With a DSLR, you must understand the fundamentals of photography. At least the basics. You may afford to buy a D3 or a D4 but even their user's manual will not tell you how to get a good photograph.
My six year old D40 is still great. I prefer to bringing it over my D90 and no plan to upgrade another body for now. If I will buy another DSLR, I may get the entry level D3200 or it's older brother D3100. They are dirt cheap on their nice features. Not heavy on my shoulder and they are more than capable for personal use.
Daming issue ng SU7:grin:
