Mga bossing... need your e-pinions on the following cameras..... which is the best value for money?

Casio Exilim Pro - 6MP, 4xoptical|4xdigital, Canon Lens

Sony DSC-T1 - 5MP, 3xOptical, Sleek internal Carl Zeiss lens

    Canon Powershot S500 - 5MP, 3x optical, Canon Lens

Hirap mamili coz same price lang halos. I like the Casio because of the advanced features, and 6MP imager. I like the Sony too because of it's sleekness and I like the Canon because of the Digic Processor. I hate the casio because it looks ugly. I hate the sony because of the proprietary memory stick and i hate the Canon because of the boloks CF memory format. hehehe

Advantage yung Casio kasi may 2 256MB SD cards ako dito nakakalat. My heart bleeds for the sony coz it's looks so high tech.

Yung Canon naman, well, is a Canon

    Ano kaya?

suggest to take the Canon S410 (Ixus 430) instead.

for beginners to intermediate, I highly recomend the Canon A80! I have one myself and it has all the things you want in a compact dgcam! 4.0 mp, choice of manual or full auto setting, all metal body, full swivel LCD monitor, focus assist lamp, uses AA batteries, and is highly rated in digicam photography sites!
For professional use I recommend Pentax ist-d or Nikon D70.

    boloks CF format?

CF is the fastest media for digital cameras right now, and it's more durable than microdrives too

ang kontra ko lang kc sa CF is ung pins...me isa kasi akong ofcmate na nakabali ng pin sa loob ng CF card reader. mura lang naman card reader, pero...nakakainis lang B).

give it a few more years, they'll get it right...eventually.

Malay mo, makaimbento sila ng digital camera na parang contact lens...ilalagay mo sa mata mo mismo. if you want to take a snapshot, kindat ka lang :D

This is one of the best on price/performance ratio. I had the same unit earlier. My only problem is I do not bring it wherever I go kasi hindi sya ganoon pocketable. After replacing with my Ixus 430, halos kung nasaan ako ay dala ko sya ang have already snapped almost 2,000. This is 3x the number of shots I have taken with my A80 and in less than half the time owning it.

Although meroon akong nami-miss na functions ng A80, having more pics taken is more important to me. In Auto mode, parang mas maganda pa ng konti ang kuha ng Ixus 430 (S410).

    pajerokid,
kung gusto mo lang is 5mp and ultra compact, you can either go for Canon S500 or Sony P100. They should be the same price now.

Good choice. You will not go wrong with these Canon models. Powershot and Ixus range are very much heralded in photography forums. I've read in DPREVIEW.com forums that one professional magazine photographer even uses Ixus 430 alternatively with his DSLR and that some of his published pictures are taken from the Ixus.

Magkano ba mga ito sa Pinas (or Hongkong)? To give you an idea of the prices here in Singapore. If getting from
HK, they should be the same price as below or lower.

    1. Canon.
Meroong promo and they are giving away 128MB CF card and an air purifier.
Prices below already includes 5% tax and this tax can be refunded if you
    are a foreigner visiting singapore.
    a. Ixus 430 (S410) = SGD640 = PHP20,480
    b. Ixus 500 (S500) = SGD685 = PHP21,920
    c. Powershot A80 = SGD590 = PHP18,880
    d. Powershot A75 = SGD430 = PHP13,760
    2. Sony
Alam ko meroon din silang promo and they give 128MB MS plus camera case yata.
5% tax can also be refunded
    a. P100 = SGD690 = PHP22,080

Wowee!!! IXUS 500 for 21 thou!!!

Anyways, my only real gripe with the ixus is its miniscule screen. hay nako, kabwiset din tong canon e. im sure the next version of this camera will finally get a 2" LCD.

The sony DSC-T1 wouldve been perfect for me kaya lang medyo mababa ratings ng image quality.
