Mabagal na itong desktop pc ko which is worth 70k during college days.

    My old set up was
    Pentinum 4 3.00Ghz
    512 RAM
    Windows XP Professional
    DVD writer by Sony
    DVD rom by Samsung
    D-link modem
    ATi Radeon Videocard
    Asus Motherboard
    Imaster pero pinalitan na.

    Ito balak kong specs

    Intel i7
    1TB hard disk seagate
    8gb memory
Geforce video card probably worth 5k
    DVD writer sony
    DVD rom samsung
    Windows 8 OS
Motherboard(wala pa akong alam na brand basta yung sinabi ni GH na with six or more SATA sockets (with RAID options), eSATA ports, USB 3.0.
Power supply ano ba magandang brand nito?

Sobra sobra na ba or kulang pa yung 50k dito?

Yung pwede pang gaming din at mabilis yung pc.

    Thanks.

    1. Are you planning to use RAID sir? you mentioned just one 1TB hd kasi. If not, the 6 SATA ports aren't really necessary...although most high end motherboards do have this already.

    2. Have you considered using SSDs? Dunno about price/performance vs RAID, but it's definitely a cleaner setup.

    3. You listed two optical drives, any particular reason?

    4. Re power supplies: you may want to check kung pwede pa gamitin uli yung old power supply nyo. Madalas gamitin dito sa office is yung Corsair 650W

    5. Are you planning to use the old PC casing? What type po? You may want to consider buying a gamer casing

    6. You may want to look into the newer cooling equipment kids are using these days, esp. if you're gonna OC the crap out of your rig.

Not a gamer btw; last PC game i played was Heroes 3 :D

For a 50K pc thats to expensive. A decent gaming/workstation pc is only worth around SGD 500.00=Php 17000.00. Monitor Full HD 20 inch LED monitor only cost around SGD230.00 = Php 7820. All in all it should be only around Php 24820.00

For power. Seasonic, get something na at least Gold rated. There are usually 2 versions: modular(i.e. you can remove unused cables) or the regular one.
Bahala ka na kung alin trip mo. And don't be fooled on buying 1000W capacities, in a simple rig you'd barely reach 600w, sayang lang pera.

the "best" i7 processor today is the Intel Core i7-3930K, unfortunately dyan pa lang lagpas kalahati ng ng budget mo.

For Ram, unless you are using 32bit OS (i.e. WinXP) get more than 8gb. 16gb would be good.

For motherboard, depende yan. and pointless kumuha ng meron madaming RAID slots kung di mo naman gagamitin.
Just get something good with the basic features you need.

For videocard. for either brand entry level lang yung worth 5k, sayang yung processor mo kung yan kukunin mo.

more info on ano balak mo gawin with it would help us suggest something for you.

    Thanks sa tip niyo sir
Yung seasonic ba 2 fan nun?

Not sure kung may 2 fans yung Seasonic, I think hinde but doesn't really matter since quality naman yung fan and the average pc rig nowadays runs cooler than the P4 of old.
Pwede din naman ibang brand, corsair, thermaltake, etc. just get gold or platinum rated, bornze at the very least.

I'd suggest to just reuse your 2 optical drives from your old rig kung ayos pa sila. para bawas gastos.

Casing, I think possible pa gamitin yung lumang case. But in case bibile ka ng bago. Get one that has 120mm as the smallest fan inlets. Don't get ones with 80/90mm, mahirap maghanap ng quality replacement fans of reasonable price in those sizes locally. And get a case with removable dust filters, it helps.
Antec or Coolermaster or Silverstone or Lian Li are good brands. Thermaltake is ok din pero lahat ng na canvass ko dati parang walang filter kasama.

For RAID, I don't like it if its just for personal use. Adds complexity + cost and while the performance gain is noticeable enough for some I can live without it. Pero most motherboards have some by default naman so its there when you want it.

I think the main question here is how much do you want to spend on the video card. Kasi yan yung benchmark on what is reasonable to pair it with.
I kinda get the feeling naman na pareho tayo and don't do incremental upgrades. Parang bile na lang ng bago pag nababagalan na type. So its better you build around the performance limit of the video card para di sayang pera

mura na lang desktop pc ngayon. overkill na un 50k imo. eh laptop nga eh you could get a decent one at 30-40k price range.
