Both can harm your printhead. But if you use it everyday and a heavy user at that (i.e. many pages), the CISS is more cost effective. Otherwise, just stick to refillable ones.

i don't see the benefit of having the look of an original set-up. it's just a look.
pinag-iisipan ko din to. bihiram naman gamitin ung printer since wala naman ng nag-aaral sa amin. occassional printing na lang ng mga letters and documents. 2nd hand kasi ung printer galing sa barkada ko. ubos na ung ink and a brand new ink will cost me more or less 1.5k. ang refill per tank eh nasa 600 din. pero ung CISS nasa 2k lang ata?
ano kaya mas ok? hindi ba magbabara ung CISS kung bihira lang din gamitin?
thanks
gusto ko nga sana ung mumurahing printer na lang. but the thing is nabili ko na sa friend ko ung printer. siya ung 3 in 1 na printer. ung pwede pang photocopy since may scanner na siya. so kung refill baka mahal per page if i will use it as a photocopy machine. but then, baka naman mabilis magbara ung mga CISS.
I have a separate flatbed scanner if I need to photocopy a document at home. The laser printer handles it well and the rated-1500-page toner cartridge lasts a very long time. I can have the toner cartridge refilled for P800 each.
Using an inkjet printer as a photocopier tends to use a lot of ink per page.
I'm using 2 printers with CISS installed and on a personal note (psychological as well) I prefer seeing the ink really drain down as compared to refills - na parang orig din na di mo talaga masabi kung ubos na or yung chip lang ang nagsasabing ubos na.
In the long run oks din. I can never tell when I'll print heavily pero at least when that happens, I'm pretty confident that I know I still have plenty.
CISS is good din pala considering pwede ka magpalagay ng external waste tank. Pag refills and napuno na ang waste tank mo kailangan na magpalit, while sa CISS reset lang yung sensors and oks na.
And of course this is for Epson. Not pretty sure with Canon and HP. Just my .02
