February 3rd, 2007 03:39 PM #1Need to buy a new printer for the office. We print around 1500 pages a month. All text and spreadsheets. So we only need a mono printer. What will give us a lower operating cost, CIS or laser?
New lasers are cheap, Fuji Xerox and Samsung have models that cost only 4000 pesos. Draw back is expensive toner around P3000. Of course we can use refills that cost around P850. So 850 / 2500 pages per toner (rated) = 0.34 pesos per page + paper
CIS will cost roughly P2000 more but ink is practically free. But its slower and printouts are not as good as lasers.
