swerte mo sir, i got mine for 39k - wala pang freebies non. siempre ilang buwan na rin nakalipas.may i dea ka ba sa worth ng adaptor? i lost mine. on my experience, i regret buying this one cause of their crappy after sales service and the heat. if i was able to save more, i rather buy the macbook that i can dual boot too

Well, if you don't mind yung mga brands like Blue, Apex, Twinhead, Neo, Portable One, BenQ, Chembook and a few others...medyo may mga pagpipilian pa. Some of these brands offer models less than 26K.

Not a bad system at all. It takes around 2-2.5 hours average to convert a DVD movie .vob to a 700mb Xvid avi via AutoGK. Then, it takes around 30 min average to convert that Xvid file (via Videora for iPod) to an iPod mp4 for use on my PSP. No lag issues even with a 4200rpm hard drive.
Gaming performance is better than the GMA950 but not as good as the X3100. Games like Dawn of War and Rome: Total War ran just fine. OpenGL is slow though. So, no Doom3/Quake4 and other 3d-intensive FPS. That's ok. I didn't really intend to game with it.
It handled Vista Home Premium on par with RC1 on my X2 4200+ which is quite well. No driver issues. Video driver is the full-blown ATI Catalyst, not the lame MS one. All the software issues I had with RC1 are gone with the retail version of Vista.

wat do u thnk? good buy?
has anyone seen/bought the asus eee pc? i've been reading good feedback from it, even though bitin talaga ung flash memory. incredibly light, portable. sort of like your kid's first "serious" laptop
I've been using a Neo 540 NX for the past seven months. Economics dictated the choice. Biglang bumigay yung Dell ko. Before the Neo, I used a Dell Inspiron 2650 laptop (circa 2003, bought in the US) which performed well for four years. Una, sobrang mag-init ng adaptor (sticker says it was made in Thailand) tapos yung cord niya closest to the adaptor broke, exposing the wires. Wear and tear siguro dahil parati kong bitbit yung laptop at napunit yung insulation dahil parating nabe-bend. Pero when the problem first arose (yung overheating ng adaptor), I surfed the net for info and found out that it's a common complaint by Dell users.
When my brother finally had the adaptor "fixed" (a technician cut off the black tubular thing and reconnected the cord to the adoptor), ginamit ko na siya. May problem number 2 na lumabas: the battery was already dead, as in hindi na talaga kumakarga ng juice. Seven months di nagamit yung baterya so baka normal yun.
Ayun, biglang nag-spark. Pinatay ko na. I searched for seven months for a replacement. Walang available locally. Nagpahanap pa ako sa Singapore, China. Talagang wala.
Kaya napabili ako ng Neo. Got it for P36k, six months 0% interest. I'm not impressed pero it's a reliable work-horse at DVD player when I'm on the road.
After seven months of use, at hindi naman ako abusadong gumamit, medyo faded na yung silver finish around the touchpad (where the heels of my palm rest) so hindi na siya 'pogi' kahit less than a year old pa lang.
Neo is a good buy if you're on a tight budget. Mabilis, mura, reliable at saka dahil pino-promote pa siya ng Neo dito sa Pinas, may mga credit card deals that ease the burden of payment.
Problema ko with US-bought laptop is that it's hard to source replacement parts, especially for Dell na though may local dealer na eh walang service center. Thailand is the closest service center ng Dell.
