kung may uuwi kang friend or realtive from the US padala ka na lang, wala pa sa kalahati ng price dito ang mga laptop dun with orig vista pa.
thats what balckmagic and i did, we both got toshiba 15.4" screen, dual-core 1.7, dvd-rw, 120gb hdd, 1 gb ram, built in wireless b/g, multi card reader, orig vista OS cd included all for 40k pati shipping na yun with-in US, then inuwi na lang nung fiend namin. not even the most generic laptop here can touch that spec at that price.
*impulse,
Which toshiba model did you get and from which reseller did you buy?
Thanks.
got the toshiba satellite a135-s4527, sa ebay nakita ni blackmagic forgot which one, pero marami dun last time i looked bumaba ng $40 na. my sisters are thinking of buying din from ebay, hahanap lang sila ng uuwi sa pinas.
I am NEO user... one year na mahigit... runs well pero hindi ko gusto ang fit ng sara ng cover kasi parang ginagasgas niya yung body.
For a P60,000 cost, centrino duo core with 1.5GB na RAM and built-in camera is was a good bargain last year.
I also get N64ish graphics with the banban Intel GMA. hehehe.
You can't go wrong with Asus and Hp laptops. They're much expensive than Blue, Neo and Eecs. Among the 3, I'd go with Blue. I've used the ECS brand before and their hinge is not that good--madali masira. Neo and Blue are almost the same. But I prefer Blue because of it's looks, functionality and capabilities. I'd go and buy the duo processors now since nagmura na sila.
my first laptop was an Acer 1640z with Centrino (Core Solo processor) 512mb DDR2... good performance... functionality and features and give it to my wife...
ive got mine recently... its DELL Inspiron 6400 with Centrino Duo (Core 2 Duo processor)... 512mb DDR2...
works fine & great with me as well...
My laptop is an MSI S420-X2
One of the cheapest (Php38K) laptop at its time with an ATI Radeon video adapter (Pang NFS Carbon hehehe)
ako asus laptop user, pain free 2 years warranty service.
nag break down yung lcd, they replaced it without even looking at my receipt.
then yung hinge naman nag break inside, they also replaced it. hintay lang ako ng ilang minuto on both instances.
yung mga brand na na mention mo, halos pare pareho lang yan. go for the one with the best specs for the price and offers the longest warranty. that's the advise i can give you
If going back to the choices, I'd go with Neo.
Just bought a Neo Endura 531NL from PCX Gilmore. Core Duo, 1GB Ram, 80GB HDD, USB, Card reader, wifi, modem, and integrated camera.
Hehe...
Pero if you really compare it with known brands like Dell, Acer, HP, and Toshiba (my favorite), iba talaga ung quality ng materials. The touchpad is a very good point of comparison, some Neo/ECS laptops have rather rough touchpads, tipong di mo malipat finger mo from point a to point b. Another good point of comparison is ung heat dissipation. Haha... pero so far so good naman. La pang bumibigay in terms of hardware, ung lock lang ang nayari ko for my experience with these "cheap" laptops.
Mahirap din kasing bumili ng mamahalin knowing na may Taiwan made na mas mura pero halos same lang spec. I can do with warranty din if ever this should be a risk with the cheaper Taiwan ones, but haven't encountered such so far kaya sige lang. hehe.. palit din naman ng palit after a while due to the trend of unending improvements in computer hardware and software.

ok yung asus na A series, malamig at di nakakapasma ng kamay.
and suprisingly, intel gma 950 plays some of my games (transformers and nfs carbon) wag lang po tayong maghahanap ng super sleek graphics.
Check around... there are Acer Aspire Gemstone 4300 Series that goes around for 32k... Sold a couple pero because of "material constraint" from the manufacturer, pakonti konti dating nito sa Pinas...
hmmm...haven't heard about acer's product, pero eto ung nakita ko on the asus website
http://event.asus.com/eeepc/
haven't seen anyone selling it here though(although nakalist siya sa PC Corner). it uses 4gb/10gb flash memory as its hard drive, with 12" screen. admittedly medyo bitin, but if you're gonna run win2k or xp, pwede na B)
guys, me nakita akong
Asus A8HE
intel core duo processor T2060
1.6Ghz, 2Mb L2 cache, 533Mhz FSB
Intel 945 chipset
512mb DDR2(1gb if cash)
80gb HD
DVD super multi drive
built-in 1.3Mpixel webcam
no OS
39,900
