the nForce2 system is composed of a northbridge and a southbridge... the nForce2-SPP is a northbridge without the onboard video.
the nForce2-Ultra 400 is an nForce2 SPP that has been validated to run at a 200 MHz DDR front-side bus speed (for 200 MHz DDR AthlonXP cpus).
the MCP-T is the nForce2 southbridge that includes the sophisticated nForce2 audio processor. the MCP is the southbridge without the audio.
the best combination for the power user would be the nForce2 ultra 400 northbridge and either the MCP-T southbridge (if you have speakers with a digital input and wish to use the onboard audio) or MCP or MCP-T if you have an add-on card you wish to use, like, say, a Creative Audigy 2.
using the analog outputs of most MCP-T mobos would cripple the nForce2 audio a bit, since the digital/analog decoder is handled by a 3rd-party processor on the mobo (usually C-Media) and the performance of that decoder isn't up to par with high-end Sound Blasters and similar cards. however, the C-Media chip is only the analog decoder; the sound processing is still done by the MCP-T southbridge. using speakers with a digital input completely bypasses the decoder and so the sound of the MCP-T is "purer".
Epox is known for the fastest performance and excellent overclockability with average stability; MSI is known for flawless stability with average performance.

Okay, that cleared things up a lot. Im not a fan of onboard anything eh. I have an SB-Live DE soundcard and a bnew FX graphics card, which i dont want to waste, so i guess my choice would be an nForce Ultra 400 board with MCP?
now..... about the budget...... :D :D :D

kaso karamihan nung mga high-end enthusiast mobos, equipped with the nForce2 SPP and MCP-T... the southbridge is no big deal, though, really... pwede naman i-disable yung onboard sound

More or less nasa 1.5k lang difference sa price...
Anyway, here's a good summary of ALL GPUs and VPUs....

Why not these board mga bro?MSI K7N2 Delta-L - P5,200
To complete the AMD platform, IMHO to choose the MSI K7N2 Delta-L, which is based on the nForce2 Ultra 400. The board comes with official 400 MHz bus speed that allows the board to run faster Bartons (those running at 400 MHz bus). There is no doubt that the nForce2 Ultra 400 is the fastest chipset for the Athlon XP right now, with VIA admitting that even the KT600 wouldn't be able to put up a fight.
The board comes with a bevy of features which include dual-DDR266/333/400 memory support, AGP 8X, ATA133, USB 2.0, 6-channel audio, and integrated LAN. There are also overclocking options for FSB, memory ratios, voltage settings for the processor, memory and video card and it even comes with AGP bus locking.
Pero theres the Opteron na that will run on Nforce 3 na hehe...upgrade ulit? think again mga sir..

newbie13... uso na nga technicolor na pcb! hehe nung panahon ko puro green lang.
Bad trip! dapat hindi na ako nagtipid sa vidcard! I downloaded 3dMark03 for DX9. ang bagal ng FX ko huhuhu! :D 1308 3Dmarks lang yung score!
Im getting a 10k worth vidcard as soon as i sell my FX5200! Pucha! Saka na yung MOBO, antayin ko na lang ang Opteron! At least yung video card, pwede i-carry over sa new system! Besides, my rusty Athlon can still kick program butt!

try not to buy new cards yet. Try to read the reviews, sort the best and buy the preferred ones by pc gurus. by order pa naman ang mga newer vid cards.
