Man dies after 50 hours of computer games

SEOUL, South Korea - A South Korean man who played computer games for 50 hours almost non-stop died of heart failure minutes after finishing his mammoth session in an Internet cafe, authorities said on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old man, identified only by his family name Lee, had been playing online battle simulation games at the cybercafe in the southeastern city of Taegu, police said.

Lee had planted himself in front of a computer monitor to play online games on Aug. 3. He only left the spot over the next three days to go to the toilet and take brief naps on a makeshift bed, they said.

"We presume the cause of death was heart failure stemming from exhaustion," a Taegu provincial police official said by telephone.

Lee had recently quit his job to spend more time playing games, the daily JoongAng Ilbo reported after interviewing former work colleagues and staff at the Internet cafe.

After he failed to return home, Lee's mother asked his former colleagues to find him. When they reached the cafe, Lee said he would finish the game and then go home, the paper reported.

He died a few minutes later, it said.

South Korea, one of the most wired countries in the world, has a large and highly developed game industry.

bos practice ka muna sa USMC, F35B gamitin mo then practice practice practice! air to air dogfights mdyo mabilis lng, mahirap lng sya kng magaling pilot ng kalaban. then pag master mo na un, sa bombing naman, release your bombs when approx. 150-200 meters away from your intended target, then go back to carrier/airfield to rearm. btw best fighters are F35B and chinese J10. best bombers F18 and F15. F15 is my favorite, drops 5 bombs in succession, total destruction down below hehe but not as good at dogfights compared to F35B.

highest score i got was 62 as purely aviator lng, no ground fights. 3 times top aviator

Astig!!! On a related note, ang sarap ng feeling when youre gunning down infantry in a heli. Walang kalaban laban hehehe. I assume the feeling is the same when you bomb a tank! hehehe.

sobrang na-addict sa games ah. ako nga after 2 hours of playing sumasakit na ulo i have to take a walk ang get fresh air para lang mawala. speaking of gaming, nami-miss ko na warcraft frozen throne. sarap asarin mga noobs sa US east server heheh. "warriors of the night, assemble!"

mukhang ok yung day of defeat mod ah. dito sa office yung old counterstrike version pa din ang nilalaro eh. knife at pistol or shotgun lang kung minsan yung gamit.

kinaadikan ko ngayon eh old school games (abandonware). master of orion, world of xeen,masters of magic, panzer general, etc. nag-install nga ako ng dos sa isang lumang laptop sa bahay at doon ko nilalaro lahat. :D

DOD is very addicting especially when playing online. My typical choice of weapon would be either the MG or sniper if available and if the map is right.

For CS 1.3 and 1.5, my choice weapons are the full-auto shotgun and double pistol. Kinda obvious that I prefer close range action although I am pretty good with the sniper rifles too.

CS Source (BWISIT AT NASUNOG YUNG GAMING PC NAMIN!!!) was my chosen addiction a few months ago when I still had online gaming capacity. Weapon of choice was the AK47 or the M4 pa rin, along with a lot of gas and flash grenades. Andami kong kills sa "rush, blind and outmaneuver" tactics. For "magulo" maps, the scout. Nothing pisses off people more than being killed by a Scout. :lol:
