I was browsing through PCX.COM last night and i realized that my SUPER POWERFUL PC last year is now very very very obsolete...

oks na kaya ito mga update items ko?

im gonna use my old casing, CD, CDR and other periphs....

Im particularly concerned with the ff:

CPU. Diba may bagong CPU na ilalabas yung AMD? Im not an intel fan.

Vid Card: Oks pa ba GF4 considering meron nang FX series?

Get off the upgrade bandwagon for computers. If it serves your purpose and is fast enough, keep it. Upgrade when you need it not because you can afford it... it'll just be a waste of money.

ano dapat i-upgrade ko if i'm a heavy coreldraw user? i always get this insufficient memory pop-out window, and then corel hangs. 512mb na ang mem ko. and when i'm opening or saving a large graphic file, sobra tagal. also, when i'm switching from other window into corel with a large graphics that i'm editing, ang tagal mag refresh.

hmmm. I currently have an Athlon 1.2 OCd to 1.33. 512MB PC133. Maybe I'll just change my video card? Im using a GF2 GTS 32MB. Hirap na kasi yung setup ko when it comes to 3D games.

agree ako kay ghost. just do an upgrade kung hindi na kaya ng existing resources nyo yung current tasks nyo.

since PC technology goes on obsolete every three to four months, an regular upgrade para makasunod lang sa technology is a little bit useless and drains your wallet.

PC ko ngayon, athlon t-bird 900, 384mb sdram, geforce2 mx 400 32mb, 40gb HDD, creative SB Live value... pero madalas na mag illegal op and blue screen lately... baka tima na for an upgrade?

Maybe all you need is a clean re-installation of your operating system? Also check your computer's internals for the amount of dust that have accumulated over the years of use, especially at the fans that keep your CPU & video card cool. Clean them out, re-insert all the cards and memory modules and see if the error have dissappeared.

if you are on a budget, a GF4 MX440 32Meg DDR is a good upgrade for your GF2.

if you have a less restricted budget, the GF4 Titanium would be the next stop.

if sky is the limit, heck, why are you still using your old desktop?

Maybe 1Gig RAM (DDR if your mboard supports it) and upgrade your HDD from IDE to SCSI. It also might help if you dedicate a full HDD (or a partitioned HDD drive) for virtual memory use.

pajerokid, opteron yung bagong labas na processor ng amd. hindi advisable kung home user ka lang. ok na yung specs mo kung pambahay lang..

boybi, baka madami kang applications na tumatakbo sa background mo. pwede din sa processor mo, ano ba processor mo?

alnr:: I think theyre gonna come up with a "Home" version of the Opteron. Saw it in AMD's roadmap. Naisip ko, kung magpapalit din ako ng MOBO, i'd rather wait for the new AMD chips.

Whats the best video card for P10k??? For gaming of course :D

pajerokid, iba na ba ang board para sa opteron? best videocard? sa sobrang dami kasi na lumalabas na videocard ngayon parang nakakainis na bumili ng latest videocard, hehehe....

boybi, ok na dapat yang processor mo para sa corel. check mo yung task manager mo kung madaming process, pwede din kasi na kinakapos ka. pero hindi siya dapat nag-eerrror ng ganun. pwede din na infected ka ng virus kaya kinakapos ka ng resources.
