My "monitor" is a Dynex 24" (60 Hz) 1080p TV I bought from Best Buy back in 2010. I'm not really bothered by screen tearing.
I also have it hooked up to my cable box.
I'm not that interested in the current PC gaming trends: 60 fps, 4k, etc. So long as I can play the game decently at the display's native resolution, I'm happy. Heck, I still prefer to use VGA or DVI ports over HDMI.
