    good evening!

i plan to allocate internet speed at home to 4 users like the one below:
    User 1 = 10mbps
    User 2 = 5 mbps
    User 3 = 5 mbps
    User 4 = 5 mbps

    (1) Is this possible?
    (2) Can this be done using the telco modem/router (globe/pldt)
    (3) do i need to purchase an entry level third party wifi router? (what features do i need to look for?)
    (4) how to do it?

    thanks

hmmm, paano kung wala si user 1? 5mbps pa din sila 2, 3 & 4?

not sure about the set-up of free routers provided by local telcos.

pero I can see 2 easy solutions.

    1. get a dual band router na hindi auto yung switching, so 1 router pero you'll see 2 networks. 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz, user 1 uses the faster 5 GHz (2.4 Ghz lang yung iba) - eto gamit ng friend ko... so password lang ng 2.4 Ghz ang binibigay nya sa guests.

    2. I use a Google router... the router automatically switches between 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz, pero I can assign a priority device if required (so if I'm watching 4K netflix, I just set my TV as a priority device for 3 hours.

thank you Ice for your inputs.

i would like to get a 20mbps na plan. tapos kung pwede bigyan ko sila each ng username and password with 5mbps speed. parang as if nag subscribe ako sa telco ng 4 na 5mbps na plan. tapos kanya kanya na sila manage ng network nila. kung mdyo mabagal network dapat mag bawas sila ng logged on device.

I have a Globe plan installed at our house.

After getting the list, nagset ako ng specific IP addresses para sa bawat MAC address, in order of highest priority ang lowest IP address.

1 laptop for wife (for ESL) - 192.168.254.100
    1 laptop for me (WFH) - 101
    5 android phones - 102-106
    1 iPad - 107

Better if you could ask the ISP kung anong router ang ibibigay nila para masearch mo rin yung model at yung features nya.
