I just install Ubuntu in my dual OS XP & Vista....

I turned off the N capability...

all I need now is to be able to run some windows apps...

if you dont want to dual boot or virtualize windows you may want to look at: http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxlinux/

im using crossover to run ie6 (for site testing) on my linux and mac machines.

    Right on!

Sarap makipag-chat sa Tsikot Shoutbox while watching a video in the background, because the browser window is almost transparent! Hehe...

The Desktop Cube animation and Expo screen never fail to amaze people...

disable compiz (if you're using it).
turn off services that you dont really use/need.
top to see what processes use a lot of your notebook's resources.

disable xorg(conky lol) if it's running. i just noticed that i uses up 5-10% of the memory whenever it's activated. as for updates, they also eat up some memory. as for CPU processes, i seem to be stable at 0.8gHz(as what conky says)
