For home use, a shotgun would be the best to use. Even a pump action one would suffice. Load it with a 12-gauge round on it and you got yourself a handy cannon.

If you ask me, I would opt for any AR15/M16/M4 type of assault rifle. It’s the only weapon I received decent training in its proper use and care. That NATO 5.56mm is quite lethal and nobody wants to be on the receiving end of it.

Fron what I read the consensus is that am AR15 or the like semi-auto weapon is the best for home defense. Good punch and not that much recoil plus the high capacity would give you a higher chance of hitting the bad guy considering the lack of accuracy of the shooter. Again this is for those that do not regularly practice shooting a gun. Also for me a shotgun might be too strong that shooting a relative or some loveone by mistake won't give that person a chance at all. With an AR15 or a handgun, the other guy, if shot inadvertently could have a chance to identify himself and thus may not suffer further shots. Read it somewhere and i kinda agree.

My uncle is the real gun nut in the family. He has a decent gun collection with his favorites being the M14, Galil (both 7.62 x 51mm), and a Chinese-made AK-47 (7.62x39mm). The 7.62mm was the primary military round during his time. So, he's attracted to those. Me? I liked guns when I was younger. But, now that I'm getting older? Not so much. It's like cars. I used to like cars with bigger or more powerful engines. Now? Nah. A 4-banger will do me fine.

My neighbor has a revolver I can use should a time come that we'll need to. I doubt it.

Here? There are 10 cases (no deaths yet) in our county. But, it's much worse in Phoenix where there are 34 cases. The whole state now has 79 cases whereas last week, it was 28.

My kids often wondered why I dislike living in cities. Now they see why. Actually, my main fear was a throwback to the Cold War. Cities will be the first to be nuked in WW3. Best to keep my distance, preferably with a few hills/mountains in between.

The US media is just insane!

It all started with subtle actions like going into commercial when certain personalities were about to say something important or simply not giving them any room to respond. I noticed it. Then, the wife noticed it.

Now? The US media is pretty blatant about it. That's why I'm happy to see lawsuits such as the Covington Case make them cough up the millions of $$$.
