Hindi tayo takot sa tubig, if we were then nung mga nakaraang calamities eh marami na namatay kasi lahat takot mag-rescue.
Yung nangyari lang kasi kay Robredo is something our Navy doesn't expect. They're trained for simple scuba diving, pero yung ganung extent hindi -- kasi for one, no budget at wala yung willingness.
Isa pa eh yung mga yan hobby lang nila ginagawa nila. Yes maraming mayaman dito sa Pilipinas that can afford such gears but then, not all are inclined on making scuba diving as their hobby, and if it is, they're not really going to the extensive parts of it. Just the simple diving.

Pinoys takot sa tubig. C'mon, nakita niyo ba yung post dito na nag-sho-shot sa baha ng Ginebra? Panis yang baha.
As posted here, it all boils down to money and time. Which in our case, gov't or private, mas kukunti dito kesa foreigners.
Next time TS gawa ka muna research bago mag-post.

pinoy takot sa tubig nah... i believed that some pinoys are into subsea diving especially those working in the O & G industry. kasi ang dami kong na-meet na mga asean divers who are into air and saturation diving, but yet to meet a single pinoy though. kasi ang basehan ko ay meron tayong training center sa subic para sa mga aspiring ROV technicians.
but, perhaps pinoy air/saturation divers are scattered all over the world receiving a very decent pay package. actually divers in the O&G are paid hourly on top of their usual day rate. pero sobrang hirap ang dinadanas nila... imagine after their dive pasok sila sa decompression chamber then sa kanilang saturation chamber at doon sila kumakain/natutulog until they finish their cycle which is 4-weeks. meron time nga na nagkaroon ng emergency case back home yung isang diver ang barge namin, he can't simply go out from the sat chamber and waited for 36 hrs more before breathing outside fresh natural air.Last edited by Gumusut_Amige; August 23rd, 2012 at 08:58 PM.

I'd rather we spend our limited resources on providing proper training for our policemen and army than on technical divers.

September 3rd, 2012 12:11 PM #28Hindi naman takot sa tubig.
Takot tayo sa maduming tubig.
Pinapalibutan ang philippines ng tubig pero ang konti ng ferry as means of transportation. Mukha tayo kotse kaya puro kalsada gusto natin. Gusto natin parang germany para may autobahn para magsayang ng gas. Feeling schumy....
Ang tubig dapat nasa ilalim ng lupa. Kaya nagkakabaha dahil wala na madaanan yung tubig pababa.
