Gibo slowly grew on me when I watched presidential forums and other shows that featured him like in Probe Profiles. I've followed most of the news with regards to presidential aspirants, even though he doesn't get as much as media mileage as the two other leading contenders.
Initially I was disgusted with his early 'infomercials' with the NDCC, especially during one time when he unexpectedly plugged himself during the Pacquiao-Hatton fight greeting all the viewers.
I've watched most candidates with the Probe Profiles and his profile was the most impressive for me. It showcased his trainings, morals, and principles which I would say are rather aligned to my own. If you watched Noynoy's you would see how he'd slouch in his chair (like he always does), like some guy watching TV at home. Would you like to be represented see your President slouch during an international summit?
Anyway, back to Gibo. If you listen closely to his answers and talks, you'll know that there's substance and sometimes even specific ideas on how to solve issues. Not to mention, he is REALISTIC. You don't get much motherhood statements from him as to compared to Noynoy, or suddenly make a quick reference to how he was once poor and prospered like Villar.
With regards to his association with PGMA, I'm inclined to believe that he is his own man. An intelligent person would never allow himself to be under someone else. Once you become President, wouldn't it be foolish to become a puppet of someone else? (Unless you're living during the Japanese occupation!) Those who consider him as a "tuta of GMA" have really shallow minds. I'd say he moved to Lakas-Kampi-CMD for it's machinery, not to mention NPC was already cooking up its own President and VP at that time.
I've written a lot already though I don't think I've been able to express everything yet, so I guess that's it for now and would just continue later on.
Cheers!
SULONG GIBO!!! SULONG PILIPINAS!!!

Which goes back to our lesser evil theory... If Gordon can't win who is the lesser evil but has a chance of winning? Maybe GIBO! As the campaigning starts I expect to see GIBO go up there and topple ERAP for 3rd place given the admins machinery. Enough to topple Acquino and Villar, unlikely unfortunately...

for me still undecided pa!but definitely not Villar....

February 12th, 2010 04:23 PM #20sad but true. but that won't stop me from rooting for him. come to think of it, Gordon has the experience both at the executive and legislative position. and he did a good job at both.
noynoy? - even at the legislative position, he pales in comparison with some of his colleagues.
villar - i don't know. he's 50/50 to become good or bad
Gibo - good qualifications. but untested. needs more experience
erap - God save us!
jamby - Juday sold us.
who else?
