INC endorses Noynoy-Mar tandem
By Dennis Carcamo (philstar.com) Updated May 05, 2010 08:12 AM
MANILA, Philippines -- The influential religious congregation Iglesia Ni Cristo has announced early this morning that it is endorsing the presidential bid of Liberal Party standard bearer Sen. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III and his runningmate Sen. Mar Roxas.
A statement released by INC head Eduardo Manalo said they would be supporting the Aquino-Roxas tandem in the May 10 national and local elections. The announcement was made before the INC members during the religious services around 5:45 a.m. today.
The religious group, whose global membership runs up to millions, also came out with a list of senatorial candidates it would be endorsing among its members.
Included in the list are Rozzano "Ruffy" Biazon, Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr., Pilar Juliana Cayetano, Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Franklin Drilon, Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada, Ralph Recto, Vicente "Tito" Sotto III, Manuel "Lito" Lapid, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., and TG Guingona.
Historically, the INC has been known to deliver substantial number of votes to candidates which the church leadership has endorsed. In the past, INC supported the candidacies of Presidents Ferdinand Marcos, Joseph Estrada and Gloria Arroyo.

Did I hear it right that the religious group in Davao City endorsed Gibo and Edu? If yes, then the duo 'own' Davao City and Cebu City....

play safe din ang INC... look at the senatorial lineup that they endorses... puro mga shoo-ins din eh. mag-endorse ka na rin lang, dun na sa llamado para di masira batting average mo.

I wonder what my ex-colleague (who's an INC and a die-hard Marcos loyalist) is thinking right now after being told to vote for an Aquino.

This ex-colleague once invited me to attend their INC service and I did, out of curiosity.

What I learned:
- INC members have church "timecards" to check attendance.
- The Bible says that there will be a prophet from the east. The Philippines is in the east. Therefore, Manalo is the prophet.

I was not converted.

if INC doesn't choose the frontrunner and perceived sure winner why did they declare their choice just now? the INC got burned in 1992, hence if you'll notice later, they revealed their candidates at the last minute to be sure that they chose the candidate who had the greatest chance of winning. why? it's anyone's guess.

now on to noynoy, why are guys voting for him? because of his integrity? anyone can say that. because of his achievements? well what did he do? because he said he's not a plunderer? anyone can say that, it's just a claim. or is it because you were caught up in the hype of his mother's death? we are sentimental folk but isn't it time we use our brains? (rhetorical question)

^^Because I don't want ERAP and Villar to win, for me enough reason to let Noynoy have my vote... And mind you I am using my brain, God knows maybe I am even smarter than you...

Please do not vote based on faith. Vote based on competence. If you think ur candidate it competent, then by all means vote for him.

Church and Government should be separate. I believe thats in the bible too. Ex. you will not burn in hell if you don't choose what your Lord/Leader chooses.

Did the candidates that INC/ Catholic church chose alleviate our country? Did those candidates stop corruption? HELL NO.

Holy lng sila pag election. Talo pa maamong tupa. Pag nanalo na...demonyo na ulit.

Read:

The church adheres to sacred unity. This unity absolute as defined in the Scripture, for in this, God, Christ and the Church are joined together as one (John 17;23,21). As the Father and the Son are completely united in everything, so should the members of the Church always be (John 17:9-11,23).

This unity is to be observed in the name of Jesus Christ and for the glory of God (I Cor. 1:10; 10:31). Discord or dissension is strictly forbidden among Church members the body of Christ, which is the Church, is not a divided entity (1 Cor. 1:10,13; James 3:14-15)

did he really spend time to recollect and decide whether to run for office or not? or was it just for effect? was it all part of a grand plan? how are we to know right? the reason that his platform is different is a bad one, to me at least.
