I think it is termed as "temporary satellite base" to keep the anti-US-Bases peeps from making too much of a protest.

That might be a good idea to help stimulate the development of the local economy of Mindanao.

Yes, and Mindanao has a lot of natural resources and rich lands which are also part of vested interests of many and can be put to good agricultural use if there was stability in the region. Itayo nila dyan sa may kila Ampatuan. Lots of raw, unused land over there.

Imagine the Philippine army and marines with our newly acquired mobile rocket launchers and endless columns of Leopard II Tanks and new F22 stealth fighters flying overhead!! We now can say **** China

remember in philippine history? this is not the time for dagohoy's revolt. aanhin ang tapang kung ang kalaban mas marami ang sandata?

there is a cheaper solution to the china problem, and it is equally beneficial to both the Philippines and the US. the US only needs to launch a PREEMPTIVE NUCLEAR STRIKE on china! it is relatively cheap (2 or 3 dozen missles with 10 warheads each) and best of all, final and long lasting (see how tame Japan became after Hiroshima and Nagasaki!) plus there is the added bonus that the $500B debt of the US to china will be written off as punishment for saber rattling and forcing the hand of uncle Sam. US economy recovers as it does not need to pay china anymore and can then spend the money in economic recovery, even those damn US factories transplanted to china will have no choice but to retransplant back to the US mainland. or PI. hahaha!

if not hell there are 7101 islands, give uncle Sam 3 or 4 or 5. and keep those islands off limits to the local meat so gabriela will have nothing to be upset about. just import some russian and thai girls to service the servicemen.

oh i forgot, it is also in a way beneficial to china. it will solve their population problem. 36 missiles x 10 warheads x 1 million causalties per warhead = 360 million dead chinese. not to mention the survivors will not be able to procreate as they will all become sterile! less chinese = better world.

no need for that because technically an "american base" already exists there.

the uncle sam built (through the "auspices" of the usaid) seaport and airport of gensan were designed to accommodate their big ass ships-of-war and their venerable fighting aircrafts. those civilian/military projects were completed in the mid-90's and i remember when i was in davao city based back then, a heck of a noticeable lot of americans (cia types i was told) lingering the streets of dabaw doing their R'n R routine

i'm told that the american military can use and occupy those aforementioned gensan infrastructures when the need arises through one of those mutually signed treaties we have w/ them gringos
