Yes, students from the province are better in english. My cousins from Cebu are very articulate on it. Straight english at di Kris Aquino crap. Di bale na lang kung matigas sila mag-tagalog at pinagtatawanan natin sila.
About the exams, it's true. Students from Visayas, Mindanao and Luzon are more driven to learn than the QC/Manila/Makati city students. Higher grades and better english.
Why?
I taught advertising in college before. And i have a roster of students all over the country.

leah_mira, this thread is about the result of the National Achievement Test conducted by the DepEd last year where the results showed that promdi students got better scores than their NCR counterparts. this is not a NCR vs promdi thread. please stay on topic.
PS. if you think you are topnotch in any field as you claim in your posts, think again. you might want to check your grammar first and say again that you are topnotch in constructing grammatically correct sentences ;)Signature

January 15th, 2006 08:19 PM #26Ganito yan.
Say there are 50 students.
The top ten earn their master's and doctorate and become researchers of big multi-national company. Some become professors and lecturers.
The next ten, still pursue their studies and show their worth and ultimately lands as Managers and top executives.
The bottom 30, well, they finish college. They are not hired by any company. try their own luck, get street smart, put up their own business and become successful.
At the end the bottom 30, will hire the top ten to do their researches, gine lectures to their personnel. The next 10, they will hire to run their business, while they go on a vacaton and laugh their way to the bank.
Don't laugh, it happens.

well it really depends on the student, it doesn't matter kung taga probinsya ka o taga Metro Manila, lifestyle din yan, pag ikaw may TV ka sa kwarto mahihirapan kang magconcentrate sa pagaaral kasi nandiyan ang temptation. Parents plays a big role in their children's studies, they should be involved as much as possible and provide the right atmosphere condusive to good study habbits - No TV, No computer games, etc.
