While I agree that Pacquiao going into Congress isn't exactly in anybody's best interest (except maybe for Gloria, Atienza, Sison... but I wouldn't go into that besides it's OT), this Rudy Degracia is definitely full of himself. His "praising" of Manny Pacquiao has this sarcastic tone to it, even.

I'm no big fan of Manny Pacquiao. Frankly though, Degracia has it the other way around. Pacquiao has nothing to prove to him. Pacquiao doesn't need to write an English letter to him (more like a resume, WTF!). Heck, he's the one who felt the need to (quite pretentiously) add (unnecessary) Tagalog sentences in.

Degracia says he writes his letter because he cares. Well, if he really did care, maybe being an actual voter residing in GenSan will help. Or at least coming and telling people WHY Pacquiao shouldn't be voted for congress.

Then there's nothing wrong with criticising his letter, either. His opinion is just as worthless as mine. I don't want Pacquiao to run for congress either. But I'm not pretending that I'm the only person whose authorised to decide if Manny Pacquiao runs or not (unlike Rudy Degracia).

i couldnt agree more with the author... as simple as that, could manny compose a letter in response to the author, he took a high school aptitute test, teachers commented that he did well, were they paid to create more icing on the rotten cake?

i have nothing againts people wanting to take a government seat, however show some effort that you know what you are dealing with, try to take a crash course perhaps...

incidentally, i heard that ms custodio isnt doing well in her seat as the comgresswoman, however, siding the lesser evil , i will still vote for her if i be a resident of gensan=)

True, the writer wanted to express his opinon. I'm not in favor of PACMAN's participation in politics but I find the letter writer's manner of dissuading Pacquiao to be too condescending and disparaging. At the very least, he should have given consideration to what Pacquiao has been able to do that no politician has, which is to unify Filipinos' hopes and aspirations with every fight. While that may certainly not be enough to qualify him to run as a member of Congress or even a member of a local city council, it is certainly more than what the writer could ever hope to accomplish in during his lifetime. Inasmuch as PACMAN needs some sense knocked into him, the retired Sgt. needs to swallow gallons, or should I say tons of HUMBLE down his throat. Maybe you've spent too many of your productive years on a boat or pushing paper that you forgot to give a modicum of respect for someone you don't even know.
