This is one of those cases wherein there is a serious detachment between politicians and reality.
I would like to dare Junggoy, and also Mayor Magoo of Manila, to drive around the metro by themselves for a month or so. Let's see if they don't pull their hairs out of frustration by then...

August 26th, 2010 12:24 PM #22Better phase out those pesky pedicabs, kuligligs and reduce the number of jeepneys here in Manila. They are the primary cause of traffic congestion here. They really reflect our Third World status. Tricycles are plying and traveling even in main roads and highways especially if you happen to travel up north. Road User's Tax is the most misused revenue by the past administration. We are paying this religiously in our annual vehicle registration and what we get in return are these poorly designed, built and maintained national roads. Highway robbery at its best.

Dang those tricycles that ply the national highways! They make traffic slow and very dangerous as faster vehicles have to constantly overtake these little pests. Will those be exempted also?
And seriously, has the senator really driven around Metro Manila? A lot of tricycles still ply outside secondary roads, especially at night.

he drove across Ayala bridge in the side walk... dash through entrance of malacanang
counterflowed across legarda...
had a go in a red light...
and convoyed with an ambulance...
all in 15 minutes...Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

what a stupid proposal!

although I'm for free market capitalism... there seems to be a need to regulate their numbers as they can't seem to grasp the idea of supply and demand...
If you've been to tuguegarao, there are more tricycles than people...Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

i guess the thinking of the tricycle operators is -- if 1 tricycle can make X amount a day, then 10 tricycles can make X amount times 10
so tricycle operators keep on adding tricycles to their fleet
other people with some capital also become new tricycle operators
low capital business kasi
