very different here in the province. their interpretation is broad and will look for loopholes. kawawa kaya ang mga nagdedeclare 100% of their finances. kahit na 100% compliance sa mga notices na pinapadala, hindi ka pa rin titigilan. ang lalakas ng loob manghingi ng lagay porket maraming kaibigan sa investigative division.

meron na ngang nasibak sa Pangasinan dahil nakasuhan ng harassment.

Ayun, eto un mga bulok na empleyado ng BIR na nasanay sa corruption. The best approach here is to stand your ground and ask to speak to a superior. Normally the RDO is careful in making the decisions and in most cases, agree to a compromise. Now if the company is really negligent pr intentionally misdeclare or EVADE paying taxes, then it is another story. I had a case before where the BIR officer tried to make a pass at my admin by asking for her contact number and demanding to meet her privately, so sinumbong namin sa RDO so ayun tangal.

This line was in Reli German's speech sometime in 1985 if i'm not mistaken, in one of the rally at Ugarte Fields in Ayala during the dying days of Marcos regime. And who the heck is Reli German, his a PR guy, side kick of Butz Aquino in ATOM who later became NAIA manager during Cory's term. His still one of the spin doctors of the yellow brigade todate.

For those who are perennially complaining against the government (regardless of which color), let me ask you this:

1. Do you pay the right taxes?
2. If you received commission from a side business or MLM, do you declare it as additional income in your 2316?
3. If you work in the government (actually you should resign if you are not happy) did you file the correct SALN?
4. Do you obey traffic rules?
5. When caught do you pay fine and not offer a bribe instead?
6. If you own properties, did you declare it as your own and not put in under the name of a dummy?
7. Do you dispose your garbage, including hazardous waste, properly?
8. Do you keep your trash inside the vehicle you are ridding in and not throw it out of the window?
9. You are consuming utilities the proper way and not through illegal means (I.e. jumper, tapping, etc.)?
10. You do not pay bribe to any government agencies just to expedite your personal and business transactions.

If you answer YES to all of the above, then you have all the right to complain and gripe about how the government run this country. Otherwise, STFU!

Well, I do have the right to complain. Our business is one of the most heavily regulated by the government. I have to play Hank Rearden a.k.a. willing victim even if it means selling on a loss.

Bro, if your accountant says that you have declared your income properly and paid the taxes rightfully, then by all means complain to your heart's contents. I have paid the government a fortune for working in the corporate world for 20+ years and fully disclosing my other investments and I have the right to know where my money went. So far I am not satisfied after 6 presidents but at least I am hopeful with the present.

It's not as simple as that because I have to deal with idiotic laws such as Senior Citizen's discounts. Sure, the intention is supposedly good, but in reality it doesn't make sense. We sell on very low profit margins and they still get to avail freakin' discounts and we have to pay tax associated with it. I mean WTF is wrong with them?! And I have a long list of gripes.

The most recent is EDPMS. We are *required* to upload our inventory and prices, else we have to pay penalties. The Caveat is that their server doesn't work most of the time. You'll sometimes end up not being able to upload to their site for two months, and still have to pay penalty. I'm sorry but my experience with government is that I end up getting screwed deeper with each administration.

You must be in the consumer business. The SC discount id meant to provide relief to the older generation. A healthy financial and sales forecast should be able to recover the discount as long as you factor in the demographics of your customers. You also need a good ERP system and a knowledgeable accountant who is equally skilled in IT. EDP-MS? Can't you submit a CD instead if the BIR system is offline?
