Kung pro-bono baka doon papasok yung 50-50.

Mukhang may pambayad naman si doctor. Pero mamomorsyento pa rin si abogado.

Depends on the agreement, if the law firm will shoulder all of the cost of litigation, maybe 70-30 in favor of the law firm ... so basically what the law firm will do is wait for a good offer to settle ... easy money for law firm since no litigation costs ...

wrong. the plane may be republic airline but it was chartered by united. the ticket was sold by united, the boarding was done by united. it does not matter what name the plane has on its tail. what matters is the ticket.

Kawawa rin dito yung 4 employees na pinilit isakay. Bat ba kasi hindi "planned" yung pagsakay nula? na over sold tuloy ang flight. Late ba sila kaya pinilit sila isakay? They caused the company to lose $1.4B. At the very least those 4 would be scrutinized by the company.

    even if all went well...
would it not have been cheaper, had the company simply bought and booked them in another flight, even if it were a competing company?
i mean, paying for the de-planed passengers' pamasahes plus the incentive money plus the hotel... naka-mura pa yung kumpanya kung nag-ordinary passengers na lang yung apat na empleyado, sa ibang flight...
clearly, someone in the company made a wrong financial decision.

so, what's so special with these company-prefered passengers?

It was not overbooked that's the thing. Plane was about to leave when the 4 united employees went to the boarding gate and asked to be accommodated.

Doon pa lang talo na ang united. They're bumping off passengers kahit hinde Naman overbooked.

I agree its not overbooking, its like a Jollibee crew na nagutom at dahil wala nang chickenjoy sa kitchen, will grab a chickenjoy na isusubo na ng customer.

as opposed to overbooking na the crew reserved the last 4 chickenjoy for their lunch, so when the next customer tries to buy one eh wala na available.
