Sa mga offices, usually may 30 day notice di ba? Langya....ginawa pala nila, pag submit ng resignation letter, sabay goodbye na. Di na nagpapakita. He-he!

MANILA, Philippines—Philippine Airlines “will soon file appropriate charges” against some pilots who resigned and failed to report for work immediately after submitting their resignation letters, the flag carrier said in a statement Sunday.
“The indiscriminate resignation of PAL's A320 pilots for flying jobs abroad whose salaries PAL is unable to match is in violation of their contracts with PAL as well pertinent government regulations that require resigning pilots to give PAL six months prior notice to be able to train their replacements,” the statement said.
“Most of the pilots still owe PAL the cost of their aviation school training, which run into millions of pesos per pilot,” it added.
At the same time, PAL apologized to passengers inconvenienced by the disruption of several PAL flights due to lack of pilots licensed to fly its Airbus A320 airplanes.
“PAL is currently adjusting its schedules by merging some flights, upgrading aircraft to bigger types and fielding of management pilots to lessen the inconvenience to affected passengers,” the statement said.
Passengers are also asked to call the PAL hotline at 855-8888 for flight updates.
Greedy owners + Greedy pilots = Talo tayo mga pasahero.....Swapang Nyo!
sa pagkaka alam ko nag serve sila ng contract nila. They were treated bad by their management pilots!nilunok nila lahat yun. kaya ngayon nag aalsa balutan na sila. they deserve a better life outside PAL.
FYI ang buhay nag piloto ay ang medical nila. pag di kana fit to fly you're grounded na, wala kanang hanap buhay... wala kaming fall-back di tulad ng ibang profession maski 65 yrs old kana eh doctor ka pa din. sa pilots pag wala kang class1 medical you cant fly commercially. kaya po kami ipon ng ipon habang bata pa. me pamilya din kaming binubuhay at me pangarap din. we deserve a better pay and a respectable working condition. not a fault finding condition.
nag hahanap lang yan sila(Pal) ng simpatiya sa tao at gobyerno to put all the pilot's in a bad position. sana isipin din nila... na masama ang treatment ng management sa pilots since nanalo sila sa strike ng ALPAP nung 90's.
Personally I support the pilots' move. I am sure they didn't do this without properly thinking this thoroughly.
These are highly skilled professionals. They have been trained to follow rules and procedures as part of their daily routine.
I do not think "money" is the only motive for such a "drastic" action.
Something in PAL management have to be really "off" for a long while to make these professionals do what they did.

If PAL would really close than by end of the year, what will happen to those who have bought tickets already?
Yep, very few airlines are operating at a profit due to the emmergence of budget acrriers and escalating costs (mostly retirement benefits) of full service airlines. A lot of US and European airlines are also losing money... Its mostly the Asian airlines that are making money (not PAL of course) like Singapore and Cathay...
Yes it's mostly the state-sponsored airlines who have run into problems. Two big examples are Air France and British Airways; their financial woes were reported as early as fifteen years ago.
Nowadays it's getting increasingly rare for a state-sponsored airline to do well and it would seem PAL is no exception.
I have friends who are pilots' children currently in the PAL flight school program. I wonder what will happen to them now? I certainly hope for their best interest.
yep no difference with doctors,et al. if you are skilled at in demand sa mid east and the like tagilid talaga ang salary sa pinas. kaya nga nangangamba ng brain drain sa pinas yung iba.
btt; if the pilots are still under contract for the training they get(paid by PAL) i think the pilot are at their fault. no difference with thouse SAP/oracle consultants whose training are paid by their present employers.
if they are not under contract but have a clause in their contract that they signed na they have to give a number of days before they leave the company, the pilots are their fault also.
now kung nag file na sila dati pa at nagbigay na ng leeway number of days para makakuha ng kapalit ang PAL then the pilots are vey justified to leave PAL after the number of days lapses.
I just saw on TV that PAL pilots get PHP400-500k a month and other airlines offer double or triple?!?!?!
I can't imagine how I could spend that much money in a month! Wow just wow.

And now you wonder why PAL and many airlines are losing money? Maybe they should look at their payrolls first...
With the emergence of budget carriers the demand for full service airlines have dropped steadily over the years...
Kahit na combined basic plus allowance that is still a lot. Imagine spending P400k here in Manila. Since PAL sila, based sila dito sa Manila. For some people annual salary na yang monthly nila.
I don't expect FAs to earn close to what pilots earn. Di naman sila highly skilled like pilots.
maybe they dont spend it in Manila since my access sila sa mga international flights, mga mamahalin din binibili nila
so 400K or 500K is not enough.
