    6. Charge your tenants with rental fee, a/c fee, profit percentage, pee fee, etc. If a franchised establishment is earning money, increase the fee and push them. If the tenant cannot take it anymore and withdraws then resume the franchise operation and manage it.

And marami na ding external factors to consider beyond internal (over paid employees) in this industry. The rise of budget airlines, the value consciousness of passengers. Bottomline the weak will perish in this industry. The strong like Singapore, Qantas, Cathay will live. The market is just cleansing this industry. The market is telling the players that they need to remove players like PAL (aka the weaklings) or consolidate...

If that not Great, I do not know what is.
And how many decades did it took him vis a vis Bill Gates? Look at Jollibee. Mag-dadalawang dekada na sila sa US pero hanggang ngayon they still have a pitiful number of stores there. Tingnan mo sa internet kung paano pinagtatawanan ang Jollibee (and PInoy food in general) sa ibang bansa. Kung ako'ng may-ari niyan matagal ko nang ni-lampaso ang McDo in the global arena.

I'd do the same. As a worker, you are only worth the demand for you. At kung maraming supply ng empleyado sa field mo, then tough luck.

And regarding Jollibee in the US: in comparison KFC (which has inferior food), expanded its stores in Vietnam from 20 to 55. In just two years.

MANILA - Flag-carrier Philippine Airlines said Saturday it would temporarily slash flight frequencies over the next two months as part of a cost-saving programme that would also eliminate 2,600 jobs.

Eleven flights to Hong Kong, Bangkok, New Delhi, Macau, Singapore, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Guam, Sydney, Melbourne and Incheon would be affected from October 1, or 12 percent of the international total, a PAL statement said.

Thirty percent of local flights would be suspended as catering, ground handling and call centre reservations are farmed out to third-party service providers, PAL spokeswoman Cielo Villaluna said.

"These measures will help alleviate the inevitable minor kinks in PAL's service as we go though this difficult but necessary transition period."

Normal service would resume on varying dates in October and November, she added.

The loss-making carrier earlier announced it would eliminate 2,600 ground crew posts on September 30, saving the carrier about $15 million in operating costs.

It said this would help it save the jobs of the remaining 4,000-plus staff.

PAL, Asia's oldest airline, suffered a net loss of $10.6 million for the three months to June.

The airline had posted a $31.6 million net profit in the same period last year, on the way to $72.5 million earnings in the 12 months to March, which was a turnaround from a $14.4 million loss in its previous fiscal year.

BTW, Bibilhin daw ni Pangilinan ang PAL?

Actually the Chinese are even man-handling the Americans so to speak. Laki nga trade deficit ng US sa China and China owns the US, holding so much of their debt and US Treasuries... US companies rely a lot on Chinese manufacturers to keep their costs down.

Europe and US saddled with a lot of debt and verge of falling into recession again...China reports continious and robust growth with a surplus in the trillion of dollars...now who is a better business model?
