    In some countries pala in Europe they have "church tax". I think it is 1% lang ata. I am not sure of the figures but the amount is negligible.
    Almost all christian based denomination implement tithing system, most of them only adheres to the 10% stipulated in the bible if kaya mo. Catholic Church follows the 10% tithe, its just that almost all catholics don't follow this.

    INC on the other hand denies that they practice tithing. Eto ang catch, "God loves a cheerful giver" pair that with their multiple offering system and most likely lalampas ka sa 10% pag cheerful giver ka.

    OXFORD DICTIONARY

    Definition of tithe in English
    tithe
    Syllabification: (tithe)
    Pronunciation: /tīT͟H/
    noun
    one tenth of annual produce or earnings, formerly taken as a tax for the support of the church and clergy.

    Mile2, the question is straightforward. Yes or no lang naman yun sagot eh.

Yes, they give tithes. It is required. Bakit? Reference nila, opkors the Bible, yun part tungkol sa tithes.

    Mile2 is denying na nagbibigay sila. Bakit? You can give any amount, proportional sa kinikita mo. Mismong ministro nagsabi niyan.

    I am not lying and this is my first hand experience.

    Eto yung misconception daw nila.

    The Truth:
    THERE IS NO TRUTH to the allegation that Iglesia ni Cristo members are forced, compelled, coerced, forced or manipulated to give ten percent of their income to the Church. Contrary to what some people say or believe, the Church do not practice the giving of tithes. Iglesia ni Cristo members give their offerings on a voluntary basis, out of their faith and understanding of the biblical teaching concerning religious offerings. Thus Iglesia ni Cristo members faithfully follow God's commandment to His servants in the Christian Era that says:

    Each of you should give as you have decided in your heart to give. You should not be sad when you give, and you should not give because you feel forced to give. God loves the person who gives happily. (II Cor. 9:7, New Century Version, emphasis ours)

    Do not forget to do good to others, and share with them, because such sacrifices please God. (Heb. 13:16, NCV)

    Knowing that the Lord is pleased by fulfilling the above commandments, members of Iglesia ni Cristo voluntarily and happily give their offerings. And it is through these voluntary offerings that the Church is able to finance the construction of beautiful and magnificent houses of worship where they, the members themselves, happily congregate to worship the Lord God Almighty in utmost solemnity. Many people may not believe nor may not come to understand that this happens in the Iglesia ni Cristo, simply because in their own religious organizations, many of which, cannot even put up a decent place of worship, and many still use public places such as cinemas, auditoriums, grandstands even after many years of giving tithes or offerings to their church leaders.
    Now observe the highlighted part specially the last one where they belittle the other denomination.

    Mag tataka ka dahil kung ang ibang denomination practices tithing yet they cannot build churches as "magnificent" as INC's "bahay sambahan" even if INC don't practice tithing. Where the heck INC's money comes from? From cheerful giving/love offering of their members?

    Ang dami parin nilang pera kung voluntary lang naman ang love gift nila. What's their secret?

    Q: What is the life of an Iglesia ni Cristo member?
    A: The life of an Iglesia ni Cristo member revolves around these four obligations:
    1. To attend without failure the Thursdays and Sundays worship services and the weekly committee prayer meetings;
    2. To bear fruits, i.e., be instrumental in converting people to become Iglesia ni Cristo members for as long as one lives;
    3) To obey the church administration always. The church administration is Erano G. Manalo and his ministers sent to lead the established congregations.
    4) To contribute to the many offerings:
    a) Thursdays and Sundays offerings;
    b) Weekly local fund offerings;
    c) Weekly EGM offerings;
    d) Weekly deposits for the year end thanksgivings;
    c) Monthly District offerings;
    d) Monthly God's Message offerings;
    e) Special Worship offerings;
    f) July Anniversary offerings;
    g) Additional cash to supplement the deposited
    thanksgiving offerings.
