Zero experience and no managerial skills... Hope el Kapitan knows what he's doing.

According to a disclosure on the Philippine Stock Exchange, the board of directors of PAL Holdings, Inc., Philippine Airlines, Inc., and Air Philippines Corp. elected Tan III to take the positions left behind by his father upon his death. During Tuesday’s meeting, Tan III was elected as a director of LT Group, Inc. MacroAsia Corporation, Tanduay Distillers, Inc., PAL Holdings, Inc., Philippine Airlines, Inc., and Air Philippines Corporation.

Tan III was also appointed as president and chief operating officer of Tanduay Distillers, Inc., according to a separate disclosure.

Tan III earned his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from Stanford University in 2015. He continued his graduate studies in the same school, later graduating with a master’s degree in computer science in 2017.

According to a PhilStar report, Tan III is only 27 years old.

Prior to his newly appointed roles, Tan III resided in San Franciso and interned at Apple and Facebook. His most recent post was as a software engineer at US-based ridesharing company Lyft, as per his LinkedIn profile.

The news of Tan III’s election comes after Tan’s airline arm was rocked with a number of resignations in addition to the passing of Lucio Tan’s supposed heir. Bong Tan passed away on November 11, 2019. He was only 53 years old.

I think it has more to do with positioning members of Tan's first family

I mean para kontrolado ng 1st family ang mga companies

Some Viber threads report the guy passed away already. He was only 26 yo and a car enthusiast

Jomar Ang, one of the sons of San Miguel Corporation’s Ramon S. Ang, Passes Away

The 26-year old Jomar is at the forefront of the latest venture of the RSA group, after RSA was announced as having taken control of the distributorship of BMW in the Philippines a few years ago.

Sitting as the chief financial officer of RSA Motors, Jomar is in-charge of major projects. He supervises the construction of the BMW showroom and other facilities. In October 2019, the RSA Motors Motorrad (formerly knowns as BMW Motorrad) was opened with Jomar taking the lead.
