freedom is not the exercise of your rights and priveleges, but the protection of the rights and welfare of the people around you...
she did not stood up.... she bitched around and whined in front of the president... what is she standing up and fighting for?Originally Posted by GasJunkie
kahit may freedom of expression, dapat nasa lugar. wag naman ganyang bastusan. first, graduation rites should be celebrated with solemnity. second, kahit pa sinong presidente yan, magnanakaw or hindi, mandaraya or hindi, commander-in-chief pa rin and pinakamataas na tao ng bansa. dapat hindi basta-basta ginaganon... opinyon lang naman po...
She should apologize, especially to her schoolmates, family and fellow provincemates for the embarrassment she has caused them.

personally i dont like gloria pero what the girl did e stupidity at its fullest. remember igalang ang matatanda and don't interrupt when one is talking hehehe
Saw this from CNN recently, a heckler (a Chinese woman) during the state visit of President Hu in the US. With him is Pres. Bush in the stands. As per CNN, the woman was shouting (in Chinese, for about 3 min.), on top of her voice, during the speech of Pres. Hu, until she was whisked away by security men.
In this situation, siguro okay lang ito(?). Pero kung sa graduation naman......maraming maiinis sa ginawa ni Miss Pangilinan. Yung mga magulang, hindi masaya sa nangyari.
maling ginawa nya... graduation yun eh.. paki mo nman kpag dyan c arroyo.. swerte ka nga eh pres pa.. hehe.. kami khit mayor wla..
could somebody from her school bring her back to GRADE 1?
she's earnt it with her action.

Kahit anong sigaw nya sa mga politiko wa epek yan, kapal na kasi some of the politikos dito sa atin. Sama na sila ni Dinky sa KSP club.
This much is true.Originally Posted by espeago

What's really sad is that this looks planned. Can you imagine militants taking seats reserved for the parents of graduates? Brazen, inconsiderate, myopic, pigheaded... exactly the reasons why I disassociate myself from that crowd... besides the fact that their incessant politicking and sometimes idiotic crusades have caused a general distaste for activism in our dear old UP... even among those of us who actually do care about national issues.
Nakakaawa yung aktibismo ngayon. So many activists don't know what they're fighting for. Try to reason with them, and they return with a circular argument (I've done my share of talking both as a student and as a teacher). They're brainwashed by the CPP on "field trips" and "retreats" in the mountains (school owners and parents, check student council trips very carefully) and come back spouting communist propaganda without the slightest clue that there may be anything wrong with what they're saying.
Bring back intelligent activism. please? Not this mindless rubbish. At least activists of old knew the issues, knew the stakes, and eventually learned that to change the world, you have to work inside the system. Wag mo na lang akong tanungin kung may nangyari pagkatapos nun...
Gloria showed remarkable restraint. Even more remarkable than I'd figured she would be capable of, as it is very easy to make Ate Glo mad...
Time and place for everything, tsong. As soon as Gloria steps outside of the graduation, throw cabbages at her for all I care...but respect the ceremony... that's a once in a lifetime occassion for those kids, and they deserve something better.
Like a better speaker. Dick Gordon is always a good choice, and he speaks very well. Gloria's kinda monotonic... but then Raul Roco wasn't any better (shock!).
