The Dutertes have never been used to dissent or criticism, having lorded over Davao City since the late 1980s. Their constant harping of "imperial Manila" is just their way of showing that they have no idea how "democracy" (debates) and how foreign the system of checks and balances (COA, the Ombudsman, courts, CHR) works.
