WATCH: Gerville Luistro calls out DepEd over 'delays' in rollout of ICT materials to schools

MANILA, Philippines – Batangas 2nd District Representative Gerville “Jinky” Luistro flagged on Monday, September 2, the supposed delays in the distribution of ICT materials to schools by the Department of Education (DepEd), when it was led by Vice President Sara Duterte.

During the House’s budget deliberations on the proposed 2025 budget of the education department, Luistro, citing documents she obtained, said that as of December 2023, DepEd failed to distribute any of the smart TVs and laptops for teaching and non-teaching personnel. The money for this came from the 2023 budget and continuing appropriations from 2022.

Luistro enumerated the undelivered ICT goods:

From the 2023 budget: 2,349 e-learning carts (eLCs), 2,648 smart TVs, 12,022 laptops for teaching personnel, 7,558 laptops for non-teaching personnel
From 2022 continuing funds: 4,067 eLCs, 337 smart TVs, 2,366 laptops for teachers, 3,161 laptops for non-teaching personnel
“I hope the people of Batangas are listening to me, so they won’t repeatedly ask me where the computers are,” Luistro lamented in a mix of English and Filipino.

“Where are the equipment?” she asked the education department.

    More shimenenanigans...

Sara Duterte-led DepEd built only 192 of 6,3 target classrooms in 223 – COA

MANILA, Philippines – A Commission on Audit (COA) report showed that the Department of Education (DepEd), under the leadership of Vice President Sara Duterte in 2023, was able to build only 192, or just 3%, of the 6,379 target classrooms.

“Only 192 (3.01 percent) out 6,379 classrooms were completed/constructed in CY 2023 due to realignments because of modifications in the projects’ design. A total of 4,391 classrooms are still under construction, and 550 are yet to undergo various stages of procurement,” the COA report said.

Meanwhile, the COA also noted that of the 7,550 classrooms to be repaired by the DepEd in 2023, “only 208 classrooms were completed, 2,135 are undergoing repair, while a very significant target of 5,207 are still to be procured.”

State auditors also flagged that only three (3.41%) of the 88 Last Mile Schools (LMS) were completed. LMS is a DepEd program that aims to “address the gaps in resources and facilities of schools that are in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.”

Sinungaling talaga, to save face sasabihin nagsurrender. Eh nacorner na siya kaya siya nagsurrender kaya hindi considered yan as voluntary surrender, more like inevitable surrender hehehe.

The essence of voluntary surrender is spontaneity and the intent of the accused to give himself up and submit himself to the authorities, either because he acknowledges his guilt or he wishes to save the authorities the trouble and expense that may be incurred for his search and capture. - People v. Manzano, Jr. et al. G.R. No. 217974, March 05, 2018

Dito its been two weeks already and so many buildings was searched, efforts at looking for bunkers and entering underground tunnels was done by so many police officers, inclduing the prolonged blockades and agitation between KOJC cult-members and the law enforcement personnel.

Mga gago nga. Nasa Zamboanga daw tapos bumalik lang kuno sa loob ng compound para mag surrender. Engot lang maniniwala. [emoji23]

Eh yun nga ang best para mapahiya PNP and BBM. Sumuko siya sa ibang lugar at hinde sa loob ng compound niya to prove na palpak intelligence ng PNP and palpak yun pag stay nila doon sa compound dahil wala siya doon.

    Mga gago.

I don't understand why they are arguing "he surrendered" vs "caught". Its been 2 weeks, several people hurt, properties damaged and his lawyers and local/national politicians claiming he's not there. Well it turns out he was there the whole time! Pahiya sina Bato, mga Duterte, Go, Boy Sili, Roque. Dapat ma-disbar yung mga abogado niya for lying!
