palay on mill to turn to rice requires electricity or fuel

rice on sacks requires fuel to transport it to the market

with surging fuel prices is the P20/kilo rice promise of jeprox jr be possible within his 1st year in office?

Another way is to make the available rice mostly imported, plus tariff reduction.
Of course, that would then be to the detriment of the local rice (or vegetable) farmers.

if you backread i'm not the one who said the problem can simply be solved by cutting out the middleman

i'm actually skeptical it can be done

ang comment ko sa rice issue is this --

nagreklamo ang end users mahal ang bigas

gov't allowed importation to bring down the price of rice

pero nag suffer ang mga farmer dahil sobrang baba ng buying price ng palay

sabi ko you can't have both -- magandang presyo para sa farmer at mababang presyo para sa end user -- no you can't

meron nag comment alisin ang middleman

ang better jan government maging middleman pero tubong-marangal lang.

ito farners ang gusto ko tulungan ng gobyerno.

But you need a dedicated government man na makukuntento sa tubong-marangal meaning aasenso dapat farmers pero si middleman dahil government na more of service kaysa profit but hindi magpapalugi. Kailangan tumubo pero dapat farmers ang bida.

Mga topschool jan yohooo may ganyan ba sa inyo pag nagtrabaho sa government????

someone has to absorb the loss

buy rice from farmers at good price then sell the rice at affordable price

    government can absorb the loss

so it's government subsidy para sa bigas

    parang oil price stabilization fund

galing parin sa taxpayer ung pondo

    there's no free lunch talaga

The per capita rice consumption of the Philippines is 130kg. With 110,000,000 people, the total rice consumption is 14.3B KG. In order to cut the price of rice to P20, you will need to subsidize around P25 per kg.

The country will need P286B yearly in order to fund it

Someone's unpaid estate tax can fund 2/3 of it

only for 1 year..assuming jeprox jr will pay their estate tax in full..he will preside the phil for the next 6 years

if he becomes president he will avoid paying that much by issuing another tax amnesty after defeating the phil govt in all the civil cases the marcos family has with the phil govt which a marcos could possibly preside

this will balloon the budget deficit..what the national govt cant collect thru taxes it will augment thru borrowings..more debts for the youth to pay

so a P20/kilo means more budget deficit for the country and to the benefit of marcos family interest

theoretical lang kung gusto ng murang bigas

    kailangan may tumaggap ng lugi

    di ako sangayon sa subsidies

    -

    re gov't debt

no problem with local currency debt

    problema ang dollar denominated debt

    the dollar is stronger

    makes debt servicing more expensive

    kailangan bantayan ang dollar reserves

not only mas mahal ang dollars, mataas ang presyo ng bibilhin mo with the dollars

crude oil and other commodities, finished goods...

ung draw sa dollar reserves natin mas malakas

    pati foreign debt servicing

sana malakas ang pasok ng $$$

we don't wanna end up like sri lanka

Sadly, we may if BBM wins.

With his sometimes outrageous campaign promises, kabi-kabilang subsidy ang kakailanganin.
And he may have to sustain that given his would be tenuous hold on the position.

this should be the next admin's first priority

coz they'll be blamed for it

a lot of people don't know what's going on in global markets

basta mahal ang bilihin kasalanan ng gobyerno

kahit mga alam di kasalanan ng gobyerno sisisihin parin ang gobyerno dahil oposisyon

so the next admin gotta focus on this
