Villar takes over ABS-CBN frequency (Channel 2) with the backing of Malacañang, DOJ. Of course, mangyayari ba iyan kundi sa utos ni Duterte?
Ating linawin ito. Ang binile o pinagpartehan ng mga buwaya ay ang Channel 2 or frequency ng ABS-CBN at hindi ang kumpanya ng ABS-CBN. Dahil ang may-ari ng frequency o airwaves ay ang gobyerno kaya nga may prangkisa lamang ang mga networks o Radio and TV stations sa paggamit nito.
Of course malaking halaga o "prized" ang Channel 2 frequency dahil 'mas mababa ang Channel (air-waves/radio) frequency' ay mas malawak ang maabot nitong lugar.
Nabile man o nabraso ni Villar ang frequency, hindi kasama rito ang ABS-CBN, 'content' (palabas), o ang mga transmitter equipment ng ABS-CBN.
Kahit may frequency na si Villar, kailangang gumastos ng bilyon-bilyon at mahabang panahon para maitayo ang bagong istasyon ni Villar dahil kailangan ng mga bagong transmitters, receivers, codec, decoders at etsetera para umere sa frenquency ng Channel 2.
Mas madali itong buksan kung makikipag-partner si Villar sa ABS-CBN. Kay Villar ang frequency pero ang content ay kay ABS-CBN parang yung arrangement ngayon ng ABS-CBN sa Channel 11 (A2Z) at sa Channel 5 (TV5). O di kaya'y isama sa partnership, assuming mayroon nga, na ipagamit ng ABS-CBN ang mga ready to use nang equipment ng ABS-CBN.
Pero kung ang tutuong motibo ni Villar ay magtayo ng sarileng istasyon, ito'y magtatagal o mabuburo lang ang Channel 2 frequency.
Ito ba'y sinadya lamang ng sabwatang Duterte at Villar, upang hindi maibalik sa ABS-CBN ang frequency? Natatakot na ba sila na kapag naupo na si Leni Robredo ay muling eere ang ABS-CBN?
Dalawa ang posibleng motibo. Pagkakakitaan nila ang frequency at muling ibebenta sa ABS-CBN sa tubong lugaw na halaga o unti-unting bubuoin ni Villar ang bagong istasyon from the scratch?
Kung ang dahilan ay sa pangalawa, bukod sa 'profitable' ang may istasyon, ay lumalawak din a g impluwensya ng may-ari nito. Ika nga, pwedeng gamiting propagandang istasyon tulad ng mga istasyon na ang pangunahing program ay ipromote ang kanilang relihiyon tulad ng sa INC, SMNI ni Quiboloy, at iba pa.
Hindi naman pastor si Villar o ang pamilya nito, kaya hindi kaya may plano itong bumalik sa pulitika at gagamitin ang bagong istasyon para sa pagpromote ng kanyang imahe o gagawing propaganda station sa posibleng pagtakbo nito sa susunod na halalan bilang presidente?

Just like TV5 na almost sa subsidy na lang ni MVP nabubuhay dahil di pa naman talaga kumikita. May revenue nga pero di pa man lang yata break even. Kaya halos lahat ng na-pirate nila dati sa Dos at sa Syete eh halos wala na rin ngayon. Mostly mga freelancers ang talent nila or short term contracts lang.

I am not sure na papayag ang ABS-CBN sa partnership with Villar. Nasa kanila ang content, at may hardware infrastructure na rin. So what will Villar bring to the table kundi frequency lang? Eh ang analog transmission supposedly mawawala na totally by next year. That is kung ang NTC will be firm about it. So baka di na rin kailangan ni ABS-CBN ang VHF frequency. What ABS-CBN needs are new UHF frequencies from which to broadcast digitally. So magiging new application na siya, di na renewal. Isang frequency lang naman need mo per location then pwede mo nang hatiin yung spectrum to transmit several channels.

Still suspect pa rin nga ano ba gagawin ng mga Villar sa franchise nila. Magiging Ka-Camella channel nga ba as advertising outlet for their family's various businesses? Or baka balak mag-ala Charo Santos ni Camille?

Yes and no. Yes they are now focusing to make the most of being a mainly content creator. That is why they have already multiple partners both on the streaming side (Viu, YouTube, possibly Netflix) and the broadcast side (A2Z, TV5).

But still, the main revenue is with free to air broadcast. It is hard to match that with streaming or any digital services. And you're quite limited when you're broadcasting but basically just being a blocktimer. They need to get a frequency soon so that they can generate multiple revenue streams. As we all know, a single frequency in digital can host multiple channels already.

Villar didn't plan ABS-CBN's take-over of frequencies. It just so happen na the stars alinged that PDUts was supposedly slighted, and their franchise was not renewed under PNoy. Opportunity lang talaga ang those closest to PDuts, and capable, will definitely rake the benefits.
