^ yeah, there's that disturbing possibility, and i bet a lot of them are thinking long and hard about who the real enemy is....but nevertheless, a strong leader would have nipped this in the bud long before this devolved into the mess it is now(that is, unless your theory is correct about Marawi).


As they say, careful what you wish for. For those wanting a "strong" president, these days the police are setting up drop boxes where anyone(particularly those who have a grudge) can just drop your name in. And i hope those people will never become part of the "acceptable losses".

Just to add to sir yebo's post...come to think of it, why do some people become sympathetic to the Maute?

Most likely, these are the disenfranchised, the disillusioned, those that have lost faith in the government. The Maute, probably came in, promised them money, told them that the government is useless, that they can make a better life for them once they're in charge. They probably fed on their anger against the government, and finally they joined the fold. Obviously it didn't quite work out that way for those in Marawi.

Willing to wait and see what the good guys in the government can do in Agriculture and Budgeting... but the big push to suck on the Chinese money teat is raising all kinds of alarm bells.
