this sovereign wealth fund idea came out after b b m met with U S officials last year

maybe he was told something bad will happen in the next 2 years and he needs to protect his assets

the SWF will be the liquidity provider

    kaya fast track

    makes sense?

    hehe

How can USD 4.4B be a liquidity provider if the Philippine budget is USD 95B? That $4.4B would generate how much income in a year?

Market misery deals sovereign wealth funds historic setback in 222: Study

Doesn't look good so far though Pandemic lingered in 2022. Pero kahit pa sabihin natin na modest 6% income generated ng MIF, that's just $264M and relative to our 2023 budget, a paltry .277%.

Iba talaga kapag may hidden agenda nga naman.

    You didn't understand my post

My theory is some very privileged people want to sell their assets

    But the market is illiquid

Buyers are unwilling to pay at prices they want

So they create a state fund that will buy the assets

not exactly a ringing and enthusiastic endorsement from the senate's principal sponsor and author himself.

I know what the the fund is for and the diversity that they can invest it. That's common knowledge for educated people.

in case someone still didn't get it

my latest theory is the fund will serve as the buyer of assets of a very rich widow

because the assets are losing value they need a buyer that will buy at above market prices

does the very rich widow own buildings in NYC?

wouldn't surprise me if the year end report reveals the SWF bought NYC buildings

Since that's your theory, my theory is the MIF will be managed well by BBM since Cong. Sandro is still being groomed as the next next president.

Can't have a stinking piece of prized legislation come back to haunt your legacy.

4 NEW YORK BUILDINGS CALLED MARCOS GIFTS TO WIFE - The New York Times

"New York Land or its affiliates manage the four properties, which are worth more than $300 million. The properties are at 730 Fifth Avenue, 40 Wall Street, 200 Madison Avenue and Herald Center at Herald Square."

    Let's see. tick tock.

Uls is just stating the obvious that the marcoses are corrupt and that the SWF will be used to bailout their properties in NYC.

going back to my theory why i think U S bankers want the Philippines to create a sovereign wealth fund

GS was behind 1mdb's bond issuance in 2012-2013

the issuance raised $6.5B and GS made $600M from that

there's incentive for U S bankers to push for the creation of a SWF

and herbosa looks to be a concession for the dds faction.

i admit though that herbosa is a competent choice even though his grating personality and his tendency to be condescending will surely rub some of his colleagues in and out of the cabinet raw
