The BSP will likely never allow Tan to work in the banking industry again. For a career banker, that's like a death sentence.

^ Something tells me the guy got a "severance package" from RCBC.

According to the Bangladeshis, Duterte has promised to return the stolen US$81million. If that's the case, who exactly( RCBC, taxpayer) is supposed to pay?

Of course we are involved in the heist, but should we foot the entire US$81million btw? i feel the Bank of Bangladesh is also culpable -- who got hacked in the first place?

hindi nahihiya ang walang jimmy (jiminy?) cricket.

what should be done, is to see if he really was guilty, and if so, jail him and confiscate all that money.

these guys have to be taught that crime does not pay.

Iilan lang ba nakakakilala sa kanya. Lipat lang siya province okay na. Better yet sa HK.

Much better talaga mapanagot ang may sala. Trust issue is so big with this fiasco. Kelangan nang RCBC linisin pangalan nila. It's the bank that needs to clean up their mess.

Agree here. In banking and finance, your name is more prestigious and matters more than your paycheck.

Why the sympathy for Tan?, he should be imprisoned including that lady branch manager and that chinese fellow.

This amla institution should be fixed. Their investigation is too slow.

Seminars in order to get CPD credits required to obtain accreditation from BOA (Board Of Accountancy). This is a must for CPAs to be able to sign audited FS.

for many people, it's the money. period.
who cares what the neighbor thinks?

that is why, it is not enough to fire (actually, retire!) these guys. they must be prosecuted and if found guilty, jailed and the moneys confiscated. hit 'em where it pains them.

in my opinion, they did not destroy only their reputation. they mudded the reputation of the philippine banking system. i am not sure how this effectively affected the way we live, but i read that at the early days when this fiasco was made public, overseas transactions (OFWs) became a bit more difficult and/or more expensive.

Not just external auditors sir. Even a corporate slave like me who will sign FS is required to be accredited.

So who pays for the balance???

    We, taxpayers???

These people should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, so that others who are thinking of doing a similar stunt will never even imagine it.

The image of Philippine banking is tainted through the actions (and greed) of these people.
