Koko Pimentel had advised Cusi to form his own party instead of hijacking the PDP-Laban as the vehicle for the presidential bid of outsider Sara, who already has her own party, the Hugpong ng Pagbabago.

has the supreme court said anything about immediate past Presidents running for Vice President?
kasi, some folks have voiced that this from-president-to-vice-president 'arrangement' is patently un-constitutional...

Technically Digong can run for VP or any position down to barangay kagawad. GMA ran for congress after all. The framers did not envision that someone who already got the top spot would stoop down and start the cycle all over again. One should never underestimate the human greed and lust for power.

but running for VP is different.
if the immediate past President runs for VP and wins,
the then-sitting President might become incapable of functioning as President and resigns, and the VP-who-was-President-a-short-period-ago, becomes President again.

That has been the grand plan all along. No VP candidate in the world’s history has ever annointed his Presidential running mate.

    +1 Million for this.
This is the reason why we are still a 3rd world country as long as voters aren’t smart enough to pick the right leaders

And to think he keeps on claiming na walang pera ang gobyerno at kelangang umutang para tugunan yung problema sa pandemic. He is basically doing a good job of exposing his own stench kung ganoon.

So yun inutang natin for vaccines ang gagamitin jan.
Tapos yun binili ng private companies na vaccine, iniipit ng Iatf, sa LGU na lang raw mga yon.

Umutang lang pala para sa campaign Kitty. WTF is wrong with this government...

But, inspite of this, it all falls on blind eyes & deaf ears. And he knows that no matter what he does & says, he is very confident of prevailing.

Somewhere, somehow Harry Roque must be thinking of another excuse to this.

The money the government borrowed for the vaccine are held outside the country by foreign bank and will be paid directly to the vaccine manufacturers.
That is why the gov't prefers the sinovac because they are probably the easiest to deal with regards to Kick-Vacs.

The vaccine procured by private companies are delayed not because of this gov't but because of shortage of the vaccine and the US and vaccine manufacturing countries withholding export due to covid waves affecting it.

Most of the campaign funds are coming from the national/local budget. Which is why the budget of certain politicians seem to balloon a year before an election year. It has been happening ever since the government started having elections irregardless of who is sitting in Malacanang.

I think term limits were a bad knee-jerk reaction to the Marcos presidency.

Nangyari lang is every admin just works to enrich (or at least benefit) themselves, because they know their time at the presidency is a one and done. There's no drive to actually fulfill campaign promises etc.

If you look back some of the best world leaders couldn't have done their job kung meron term limits. FDR in the late '30s to '40s, in the modern era madaming admirers si Angela Merkel who was chancellor of Germany since 2005.

IMO the possibility of re-election makes a president work better so he has another shot. Without it we get what we have na payaman lang for six years before passing it on to the next guy who will do the same.

    giving the leader another shot,
is giving him a second chance at doing what he did the first time, probably more streamlined this time.

    in my opinion,
it's not the form of government nor the term.
    it's the person in government.

Six years is too short for a good president, but too long for a bad one.
