President Duterte has idiotized the Filipino voters like no past president had, as shown by his “high approval rating” to this day. This is precisely why he has become so bold as to announce that he is available for a second term by running for vice president, with the obvious intention of immediately eliminating the dummy he picks to run for president. If the voters bought his improbable bravado about “jet-skiing” to the West Philippine Sea in defiance of China, they would most likely believe more of the false promises coming out of his mouth.

Moreno, Poe, Robredo splitting opposition vote in latest presidential poll
The most recent Pulse Asia Research survey indicates that the votes of dissenting forces against President Rodrigo Duterte are mainly split among three politicians: Manila Mayor Isko Moreno (14%), Senator Grace Poe (10%), and Vice President Leni Robredo with (6%).
Their numbers are a far cry from survey frontrunner and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, the feisty presidential daughter who is now consulting with political leaders and sectors to finalize her 2022 plans. Her father, meanwhile, leads the vice presidential race, but only by a very slim margin of four percentage points over Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. Analysts have called President Duterte’s floated VP bid a “bastardization” of the electoral process.
1Sambayan convenor Howie Calleja agreed, saying, "It is clear that the survey would show that Mayor Sara is not unbeatable, but the way to win is to coalesce and unite as one."
This assumes each of the candidates’ supporters in Pulse Asia’s list would rally behind whoever is nominated as the sole opposition standard-bearer. Camps from different opposition groups, however, continue to bicker online, with purists refusing to entertain the possibility of supporting someone else besides their desired bet.

Robredo’s run: Why a most qualified presidential bet doesn’t have the numbers
Decency has become a boon and bane of Robredo’s political career. Her principles make her a good public servant – perhaps even the most qualified person to be president – but her refusal to play the dirty game of politics could be fatal to her potential bid for Malacañang.
These are among the reasons why the Vice President still can’t decide if she’s the right person to become the opposition standard-bearer, Robredo’s spokesperson Barry Gutierrez told Rappler. Her options are either the presidency, the gubernatorial post in Camarines Sur, or a break from politics in 2022.
The stakes are so high in 2022 that Robredo is willing to entertain the possibility that the right presidential candidate may not be her. That’s almost an unthinkable position to take for anyone with lofty Malacañang aspirations, but Robredo isn’t your traditional politician.
She's going to be up against forces that has everything going for them, money, resources etc. Siguro kaya deep inside, she is still debating the pros and cons of running. The thing is since she embodies what a true public servant is all about especially in times of calamities pero unfortunately Pinoy politics is all about name recognition and popularity, kumbaga sa high school kelangang maging cool ka para tanggapin ka ng mga peers mo otherwise outcast ka. I don't know but it seems to me that if ever this country elects a geniune public servant to the presidency it won't be in our lifetime. Then again who knows what will happen in the coming days.
May pagasa si Leni or opposition as long as maging solid sila.
Mar or Grace could’ve won last elections if they gave way- combined silang 19M votes vs dutae’s 16M.
Dagdag pa mga nagsisi voting for the old man which is probably in the millions.

In todays scenario, if you believe the statement of Trillanes then if Leni doesn't accept the candidacy then Trillanes will surely try his luck at the top spot. He will never win but he will take votes from the Opposition weakening whoever they plan to field for the presidential candidate.
Best Option is to divide the admin and unite the opposition. Let Isko, Manny, and Ping run. So kahit less than majority ang opposition, panalo pa din.
