Hold your horses, think before you leap, and clip that reactionary tendency.
I am just stating a fact: that Rodrigo R. Duterte becoming the 16th President of the Philippines is a foregone conclusion.
The hooting throng, the mob behind him is like floodwaters flowing from a broken dam engulfing everyone downstream. And the only way to stop this, is for Secretary Roxas or VP Binay to quit from the race in order to plug the breach of that proverbial dam and throw all their might to Senator Grace Poe. Parenthetically, whoever she is or whoever wins other than Sec. Roxas, I don't give a damn.
I DID NOT say they will or they should.
There is whale of difference between stating a FACT and speculating a POSSIBILITY.
To the uninitiated, this may seem innocuous and will pass unnotice. Early on, Mayor Duterte made a pronouncement that he would not accept campaign contributions or donations from rich businessmen because these people have vested interests and he did not, should he win, want to be indebted to them. True enough, from February 9 to 29, the good Mayor spent only a measly Php2M for his political advertisement. But during the succeeding period, from March 1 to 31, he spent a gargantuan sum of more than Php280, 0000, 000.00. In other words in March, he almost spent 10 million pesos per day. Where did the money come from. Take note that was for political advertisement ONLY. It did not include expenses for mobility and all.
We do not believe the money came from his own pocket, nor we believe that the former CEO of Clark Development Corp., Arthur Tugade, all alone bankrolled his candidacy.
We cannot read a person's mind. We can only know or approximate what is in his mind by examining closely what he does and what comes out from his mouth, even his jokes are indicia of his mental state.
Mayor Duterte is friendly to China. He even joked that if he would become President he would go to the South China Sea on a jet ski and plant the Philippine Flag there. He was short of saying that he would surrender a fraction of our territorial sovereignty in exchange for a couple trains from China. Mayor Duterte is likewise friendly to the CPP/NPA. The People's Republic of China and the Communist Party of the Philippines/New People's Army do have something in common. And it would not take a genius to comprehend what is that. This was also the time when Mayor Duterte's campaign kitty ballooned. Recently, JOMA Sison manifested his intention of going back to the Philippines should Mayor Duterte win. Communist rebels surrendered the policemen that were kidnapped in Davao City to, who else, Mayor Duterte. We do not believe in coincidence.
Be careful of who you are voting for. One day you might wake up with a different flag, instead of a bicolour of blue and red with a white triangle containing three gold stars at its vertices and an 8-rayed gold sun at its center, you would find a red flag hoist in the horizon with hammer and sickle.
Now wonder foreign investors are pulling out their investments. This issue was not even tackled during his presence at the MBC meeting because Mayor Duterte just rambled on his peace and order theme for hours ad infinitum. The Philippine market is facing a period of uncertainty brought about by Mayor Duterte and his cohorts.

Roxas liberal party vote buying caught red handed P1000 envelope by GMA7
Employees of the Quezon City government were caught red-handed distributing brown envelopes believed to contain cash in a gathering of barangay workers.
An exclusive report by GMA News reporter Steve Dailisan said they were tipped off that cash was being distributed to barangay workers in the sports complex owned and managed by the Quezon City government, along Roces Avenue in Quezon City.
One of those who queued and received an envelope said they were members of the Lupon ng Tagapamayapa (peace and arbitration council) from the city's districts 1, 3 and 6.
The source said they were invited to attend a political event and were asked to to line up for snacks and collect a small brown envelope.
Some participants claimed that reelectionist Mayor Herbert Bautista and unnamed city councilors spoke at the event. Quezon City Rep. Rey Calalay was also reported seen at the event.
The two officials did not respond to calls and text messages sent to their phone numbers.
Bautista, an actor turned politician, is eyeing a third and final term as mayor. He is challenged by Alexander Lague, Leon Peralta and Martin Sanchez Jr., all virtually unknown aspirants.
Calalay meanwhile, is up against preacher and former congressman Vincent "Bingbong" Crisologo.

Duterte accounts had P2.4B in transactions

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte deals in hundreds of millions of pesos, records of his bank transactions show.
Transactions amounting to P2.407 billion and involving 17 accounts of Duterte in three banks (two in Metro Manila and one in Davao) were recorded over a nine-year period, documents provided by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV to the Inquirer showed.
From 2006 to 2015, Duterte held seven joint accounts with his daughter Sara at the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) branch on Julia Vargas Avenue in Pasig City, nine joint accounts at the BPI Edsa Greenhills branch and one joint account at Banco de Oro Unibank-1 in Davao City.
At BPI Julia Vargas alone, father and daughter received total deposits and transfers of P1.74 billion. They had P667.24 million in total deposits in BPI Edsa Greenhills and P534,989.75 in BDO–Unibank (Account No. 1370020471).
The number of deposits and transfers in the three banks totaled 71, of which 23 were interbank transfers and 48 through credit memos.
The interbank transfers amounted to a total of P715.9 million, while those done through credit memos reached P1.69 billion.
The records showed that 48 deposits totaling P1.7 billion, including a deposit of $1.9 million, were recorded at the BPI Julia Vargas and Edsa Greenhills branches.

At the BPI branches, the highest deposit was P55,131,747.32 and the lowest, P953,511.29.
The bank records further showed that in several transactions the same amount was entered in two different accounts on the same day. For instance, P49.28 million was deposited in two different accounts at BPI Edsa Greenhills on May 22, 2007.
In another instance, four transfers of the same amount (P41.72 million) were made in just one day at BPI Julia Vargas.
On March 28, 2014, Duterte’s 69th birthday, seven transactions amounting to P193.71 million (not P197 million as earlier reported) were credited to his account at BPI Julia Vargas.
That year, the BPI Julia Vargas accounts contained P227.41 million (not P211 million as earlier reported) but was not included in Duterte’s statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) submitted to the Office of the Ombudsman for Mindanao on April 30, 2015.
All the accounts of Duterte and daughter Sara, except for the BDO Unibank, showed Ecoland Subdivision in Davao City and P. Guevarra Street in San Juan City in Metro Manila as their home addresses.
As mayor, Duterte receives a monthly pay of P78,946 (Salary Grade 30) under the government salary standardization law prescribed by the Civil Service Commission.
Failure to declare an asset is a ground for an official’s dismissal from government service.
In his 2014 SALN, Duterte reported a net worth of P21,971,732.62—assets worth P22,971,732.62 and a liability of P1 million, a personal loan from a certain Samuel Uy.
Duterte earlier denied the existence of the BPI Julia Vargas accounts, but admitted on Thursday that he had two accounts in the bank branch. With reports from Kate Pedroso and Ana Roa, Inquirer Research

Opinion: #NoFilter: How bank account issue may affect Duterte

Political analysts Professor Prospero De Vera and Teddy Locsin Jr. believe voters should choose their vice-presidential candidate well as whoever will be elected might end up being the president in a year, following recent developments in the presidential campaign.
Speaking on ANC's "#NoFilter," Locsin and De Vera said that despite presidential frontrunner Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte's popularity, he might end up getting impeached if it is proven that he did not declare everything in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net worth (SALN).
"We don't want a Corona impeachment case happening after the elections for the same argument that the SALN does not contain all the information," De Vera said.
"Speaking of impeachment, I understand from Duterte's supporters that he will have Congress picketed in order to restore the death penalty. I would like to remind them, if you picket a Congress on the orders of the president, that is an impeachable offense. Therefore, let's be careful who we choose as vice president because she would probably be president in one year," Locsin added.
Duterte on Thursday confirmed that he has a bank account at the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) branch on Julia Vargas Avenue in Pasig City, just hours after his spokesperson denied its existence.
Duterte, however, insisted that the account does not contain P211 million, as alleged by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
Speaking to reporters in Bataan, Duterte said he has two bank accounts which contain only P50,000 and P17,000 each.
WOW, with pronouncement like that...

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is unfazed by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV's pronouncement that the PDP-Laban standard-bearer could be impeached if he wins the presidency over allegations of hidden wealth.
The tough-talking local executive says he will simply close down Congress if it attempts to impeach him.
"'Pag i-impeach ako, sabi ni Trillanes, eh 'di isara ko 'yang Congress. Eh 'di wala nang mag-impeach sa akin," said Duterte in Bataan on Thursday.
Duterte had previously brought up the idea of having a "revolutionary government" if he becomes president, and he said he intends to follow through on it.
"In every revolution that succeeds, siya 'yung tigas. He now becomes the authority," he said, before bringing up the case of late former president Ferdinand Marcos.
"Tingnan mo si Marcos. Pero kaniya, Martial Law, iba yun. Dictator? Ah, eh 'di alangan. Ako na ang Congress, ako na ang presidente, dictator ka talaga," said Duterte, adding that congressmen wouldn't be able to do anything about it.
"Sabihin ng congressman, 'Bakit mo naman kami isara?' Eh p-- ina, impeach-impeach kayo diyan," he added.
Trillanes had accused Duterte of maintaining accounts containing hundreds of millions of pesos. While Duterte has admitted to owning some accounts as alleged by Trillanes, he said these only contained hundreds of thousands of pesos, savings from his previous stint as a congressman.
Duterte has led recent presidential preference surveys with barely more than a week before the elections.
Trillanes said this issue could eventually form the basis of an impeachment complaint if Duterte wins the presidency.
"Hindi pwedeng mananalo ang isang tao base sa panlilinlang... Gagawin natin. May mga kasamahan din naman tayo sa House. Haharapin at haharapin mo ito eh, might as well face it now," said Trillanes. --Cedric Castillo/JST, GMA News
