Baka may pag-asa pa tayo sa land rover. Pagdating nila dito uli, sana di nila i-market na luxo vehicle. Pero palagay ko ganun ang gagawin dito. Asar no? Alam naman natin na sa ibang bansa, eh work vehicle ang mga ito specially the 90 and 110 defenders.
Hindi 4x4 yung bagong Pajero no?

I think it only means a center differential lock. Not much different from what I have in mine. They might have put in a rear difflock, but I guess all the rich hotshots who buy GEN III's wouldn't know how to use it anyways.

wala atang factory rear diff lock yung Pajero anywhere... it relies solely on traction control to get going

    i think the proper description for the gen3 paj is "part-time / full-time four wheel-drive", since user-selectable ang 2H and center-diffed 4H.

The Super Select system of the GEN III retains the 4Hlc and 4Llc modes which means that there is a locking center differential. However, the rear differential lock option offered in the GEN II is now ditched in favor of traction control (which I do not favor).

    ssaloon,

Diesel variants are usually more expensive than gasoline powered ones if the feature content are the same for both models.

e bakit ang patrol mas mahal ang gas, same features naman except for the rear brakes (discs for diesel, drum for gas).

Ang labo naman ng patrol. Mas mahal na yung gas model, naka drum brakes pa likod.

The prices might be because of the technology of the engines. The nissan diesels are not yet direct injection yata, meaning mas mura yung engine type while in the pajero baka direct injection na diesel engine nila kaya mas mahal.

I beg to disagree with your post sir ale28. ZD30 is a direct injection engine too like most of its counterparts.

ang tax system ata before kasama ang engine displacement, tapos kapag gas engine, mas mataas din ata tax kesa diesel engine. sa gas engine ata, kapag 2.0L and above, meron additional tax.

...which still doesnt explain why it has rear drums.

BTW, diba meron optional rear diff lock ang Pajero?

From 4x4 Australia mag, they featured a 3.8 V6 Pajero with rear diff lock switch near the tranny. But did not get a review if it was performing its tasks.

Difflocks are standard on some upmarket models in some markets. However, most markets make do with an LSD or a traction control system.
