Oo nga bakit wla ung BMW X5 na winawasak lang d2 ng mga taga-costongs Haha! at ung Cayenne, but i think 3 star lang cla when it comes to Roll Over.

Teka wla din ung paborito natin na Fortuner na araw2 mo makikita sa Lansangan, anyway wla naman talaga released nyan sa US kc i think hindi sya papasa sa Safety Standard ng US tinalo pa ng Sta Fe akalain mo yun haha! no offense to Fortuners tsikoters Here peace! po

Pero alam nyo mga Tsikoters d2 sa Pinas ginagawa yan Stability Control devices na yan, with the Help of our Pinoy engineers and technicians.

The Fortuner isn't built for US consumption, but since it's based on the Hilux, which is sold in Europe and Australia, it should at least match the Hilux's front and side safety ratings... I wouldn't count on the third row being as safe as in an American-market SUV, though.

And Fortuners aren't prone to rolling over. They have a very wide wheelbase and very stiff anti-roll bars. This doesn't prevent them from spinning out of control if you exceed the tires' limits, but at least you won't end up on your roof (well, not most of the time).

The Everest and Alterra are in the same boat, safety-wise. They're based on pickups that meet crash standards in other countries, but the third row hasn't been extensively tested for safety. The Everest is probably more prone to rolling over than the Fortuner, due to a narrower wheelbase, but how badly it would do in US tests is an unknown. But the Everest does have a decent amount of safety kit (ABS, EBD, LSD) that help make it sure-footed.

The number of high-profile Everest incidents, though, I still attribute to the fact that many new drivers can't handle the extra power it has over older diesel SUVs (sort of like the spinning Fortuners when it was new). Hell, people have killed themselves in brand new Land Rovers here in Asia, too.

Yeah, stability control would be good on tall SUVs, but I doubt it'll become standard here any time soon.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

visit some of the website for crash test. Tigas pala ng outlander sa gilid 5 stars Wowow. Some say that the outie is not done yet with the test so we can expect an updated list maybe after a few months.

how come the 2008 lancer has already been rated?

The outlander neither Passed or Failed but it has an Evo-inspired aluminum roof panel saves 11 pounds and significantly lowers the center of gravity and 1.7 inch lower than santa fe's height. 600-foot slalom = 62.7 mph (avg) compared to santa fe's 60.3 mph (avg), 300lb+ lighter. Sante fe has a wider wheelbase by 1.2 inches. If the taller and narrower vehicle tends to rollover more, outlander "should" pass it. Im no expert but looking at these figures raises the question why wouldnt it pass. Experts please clarify if i miss anything.

http://www.euroncap.com the outlander scored better in crash testing than the santa fe thats a plus.
