from full stop, inclined/hangin... dapat gamitin ang first gear. pero kung rolling na at kaya nang sa 2nd agad i-derecho. di naman masama, i do that on my adventure. la namang nangyaring masama.
AFAIK, on diesel engines with very short 1st gear OK to. not sure bout gas engines.

1st gear talaga kahit hintayin kung pumasok syak na nka torque..
what do you think?

Theoretically, though, you could start in any gear. Drove a Mazda Van before (2 tons, but merely 1.8 liter gas!) that could creep away from a stop in 5th.
