Basically, the LoJack company donates equipment to police cars and helicopters that would help track down LoJack-equipped cars (their customers). Kung manakaw ang kotse mo, you call the police and tell them your VIN and LoJack with send out a radio signal to activate the LoJack transmitter in the stolen car.
The disadvantage is that kung naka-takbo na ng malayo ang stolen vehicle, or if it's inside a deep parking lot, hindi na siya makikita ng mga police. Pero according to LoJack, they have had, and continue to have, a very high success rate in recovery --usually within 24 hours daw.

November 17th, 2004 12:55 PM #7IMO di lang marunong gumamit yung may-ari nung pajero ng tracking system nung car niya. kasi it has the commands and functions na itetext mo lang and it will only recognize numbers that are programed to it, that's why if you don't place your wife's number sa memory, di ka rin niya malolocate. hehe
these are examples of commands that could have been helpful:
alarmon - texts you when the alarm has been triggered
shieldup - texts you when the car moved outside of the radius you specified
ignitionon - texts you when the ignition has been turned on
immobon - immobilizes the engine (best bet para di macarnap)
where - gives you the exact location programable pa so that it can tell you how far, in what direction it is from your house, office, gf's house, etc. (with longitude and latitude pa), if it is moving at what speed, and time, it can even store the name you've given to your car!
there are corresponding commands to turn them off and other useful functions that you can use so that your car informs you automatically of its location at a specified time interval or distance. its just a matter of getting to know the features of your car in order for you to be able to use it properly and avoid these types of mishaps.

Mayor Cayetano expressed that she is willing to cooperate naman daw (probably meaning she wants...
