ang point ko lang naman the jeepney is the best vehicle for its purpose (from the point of view of PUJ operators)
if the jeepney isnt the best for its purpose, operators would have found an alternative long ago
if an isuzu elf mini bus would be a better alternative, isuzu elf mini buses would have already replaced jeepneys
japan surplus isuzu elf trucks have been around for years. they could have used surplus elf cab/chassis and built passenger truck bodies and used them as PUJs
(btw, tawag nila dyan "panoramic" body)
tapos eto ang Isuzu Phils. in partnership with a local truck body fabricator coming out with a 1.2 million peso elf minibus that they say will to replace PUJs?
yeah sure
good luck

pag may nakita kayo brand new Isuzu i-van na ginawang PUJ kunan niyo ng pic and post it here

the jeepneys are going to be hard to replace. but to reduce bottlenecks at intersections they use as terminals, the size and capacity of the jeepney has to be brought back to the original size standardized by francisco and sarao motors. eight to each bench seat. this way, they don't have to wait long hanggang mapuno and that reduced size lessens the space they occupy on the road. the reduction in size also requires a smaller engine and lower carbon dioxide footprint. reduce the weight by using composite materials but not compromise safety. the jeepney is not the problem but the drivers are as mentioned in earlier posts. enforce the no stopping other than loading and unloading of passengers and require the operators to have parking space (not to park on the sidewalks). no parking space, no jeepney operator license
