If you always drive at highway speeds and/or on twisting roads, new tires goes to the REAR.
If you predominantly drive in Metro Manila, new tires in FRONT.
The assumption here is that, in either cases, the old tires are still road-worthy.

I try to rotate my tires regularly so that they will all need replacing at the same time. If I need to replace only 2, I put them up front, just personal preference. I find that they scrub in faster up front. But I drive as though it were a new car with brakes that haven't been broken in.
If I suspect I may have misalignment up front I put them in the rear.
I also rotate my tires so that they wear evenly and eventually I replace all 4 at the same time.
My Kumhos are now at 35,000 km travelled and I'll probably replace them in the next 2 months. Eyeing the GT SX2 or Yoko Advan V701 - I want something grippy, I need something that lasts long.

But on a tire blowout scenario, which is more survivable?
Blown front tire or back tire?
Thicker tires should be in the front if ever the tires are for replacement already.
