    Crap, corrosive nga.
I just dusted off most of the dry ash last Sunday night and covered the car.

Ako ginawa ko doon sa isang car, no contact wash. Ash is concentrated sa top parts lang ng car (konti lang naman ung visible ash). So thorough pressure washer, then snow foam (sit for 5mins; ph neutral), then wash off ulit. Dry using air blower.

i got along fine, using an ordinary feather (fabric) duster. yung medyo mahal, hindi yung mura na halos patpat lang.
but then, our ashfall here wasn't heavy. more of, one month's worth of alikabok.

Latest tech are brushless blowers 18v-20v. There are corded brushless blowers too. These will last longer than carbon brushed motors(old tech)

    Makita
    Milwaukee

HILTI if you want the ultimate tool lol

It was almost 6days when you last used the car. It would be normal imho that idling would be rough after start-up kasi halos lahat ng engine oil fluid and maybe transmission fluid if automatic eh bumaba sa pan at wala halos natira sa mga moving parts.

Plus the battery could have been really low on reservenpower kaya working overtime ang alternator mo and it might add sa strain sa makina.

Gasoline fuel because of the 10% enthanol content eh parang napapanis din after a week kaya it might also contribute to rough idling.

Re air filter, check mo nga lang if madumi na or okay pa. One thing to do to check if pwede pa air filter is to put a flashlight i.e., your cellphones led light can be used, and put it behind the filter medium and check of light passes through. If may nakikita ka pa light eh okay pa yan. If mahina na or wala na kamo tumatagos na ilaw sa filter medium eh dapat na talaga palitan.

    i agree with this.
i also experienced it in my previous car, 20 years ago.
but all smoothed out to normal, after a few minutes of idling.
