Has anyone ever tried the MOTUL Competition 5W/40 fully synthetic oil?

I'm curious, since the price is very attractive. My suking talyer sells it for 900 for a 2-liter can. They just got it themselves and have yet to try it.

My next oil change is coming up, just wanna check my options.

Haven't tried it but it's supposed to be very good stuff for racing and high performance applications. Available only thru mail order and specialty shops in the U.S.

Really? Weird, its really cheap here compared to the other synthetic oils. Sabagay, I know the distributor is making a big push in the local market. Thanks!

Hindi naman. PGA Cars use Mobil1 0W/40 tri-synthetic oil on the Porsches, even the Turbo models. Autoplus uses fully-synthetic 5W/50 Rally Formula on their race cars (drag and circuit).

I've tried both on my Mitsu, ok ang performance. Problem ko lang is ang starting o cold grade ng MOTUL na '5' is too thin, leading to noise from the hydraulic lifters to come out. Mitsu recommends 10W/30 oil and up to eliminate noisy lifters on cold starts.

Motul is a good brand.Get it while its cheap. Here in the US motul is expensive. Motul, Amsoil and Elf are the ONLY three TRUE ester based full synthetic oils on the market.Meron na bang Motul brake fluid dyan? That's the one i used in track.

Due for oil change na ko. Thinking of availing this promo. Would you know if the motul oil they use have energy conserving properties? Trying to save on gas kasi.

The oil Speedyfix uses is 10W40. Is it ok to use if my manual recommends 5W30 and says do not use other viscosity. My other option is Havoline energy 5W30. This will cost more. Does havoline Energy really help save gas? What should I go for?

10W-40 nga ang gamit nila Speedyfix. No energy conserving properties.

And stick with 5W-30 (kinda hard to argue with the automotive engineers who recommended that), from my experience it gave me around 5% better fuel economy.

i used to have 20w-50 toyota mineral oil in my rav but the manual recomends 5w-30. Before I was getting around 10km/L but when i shifted to 5w-30 i'm now getting 11.5km/L

reason enough for me to go with havoline energy 5w30. Hope my consumption improves.

if what is recommended by the engine is 5w30 then try to stick with it. pero also check the temp ratings in the service manual. some manufacturers recommend that viscosity only in colder climates.

it will definitely give you better milage but if you do lots of hard and fast driving it might be better to err on the higher viscosity for the extra amount of protection.
