unburned gasoline will accumulate in the catalytic converter and muffler. in the muffler it will just cause a back fire, but in the cat it can cause a fire and even a big explosion. remember, a liter of gasoline has the same explosive power as 100 sticks of dynamite. would you want even 1 stick of dynamite explode under your car?
